Abstract

A foot rest (c) comprises an integral roller mechanism (b) that rotates in response to force applied thereto by a user. The upper surface of the foot rest (c) and roller (b) are both covered by a rubber studded mat (a). The foot rest also has a height adjustment mechanism (d). The stimulation provided by the roller (b) and the rubber studded mat (a) to the nerves in the bottom of the foot will encourage circulation to the lower legs, thus elevating fatigue.

Description

THE SPECIFICATION
The Office-Mate The device is of a modular design constructed of plastic or similar material. It incorporates a roller (b) with an attached rubber mat (a) molded with a rubber spike-like finish.
Both mats are replaceaLle.
The device is angled to the approximate angle of the feet at rest in the sitting position but will incorporate an adjustment feature (d).
The roller (b) would react to the operators' foot movement stimulating circulation byway of direct stimulation to the nerve endings in the base of the foot also and subsequently by this voluntary movement by the operator. This feature is best described as a pleasurable experience thus an encouragement to the operator to exercise whilst otherwise their feet would remain stationery.
DESCRIPTION
Off ice-Mate.
Footrest device (Figs 1&2 c) with a fixed rubber studded mat finish (a) to the upper surface incorporating a rubber studded drum (b) to the top center.
Plastic molded body (Figs 1&2 c) with integral height adjustment (d) to be placed under desk and used to rest feet upon.
The roller (b) has attached to its outer surface a rubber studded selfadhesive replaceable mat. The roller (b) would rotate with the movement of the operator using the device and would offer a moderate but effective solution to prolonged foot and lower leg fatigue.
This device would be self contained and molded using readily available plastic material ideally recycled plastic bottles.
The device would primarily be placed under a single workstation, with the removal of the operators footwear one would place feet comfortably on top of the device offering instant stimulation to the nerve ending in the base of the foot.
Both the fixed rubber mat (a) and the roller drum mat on (b) would be serviceable by way of a replacement kit supplied separately.
I
ESSENTIAL FEATURES
The essential features would be that of the device ability to both adjust to the operators preferred angle of rest and that of its ease with which it can be operated.
The use of the height adjuster is also a preference as the office mate could be repositioned ether closer or further away from the operator thus altering the operational angel of the ankle incline upon contact.
The Roller (b) would react pleasurably to the operators twitching feet be it subconscious or otherwise intended operation. The rubber mat construction is studded with a slightly pointed finish suitable for stimulation but harmless if excessive weight is applied to the foot.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIM
The office-Mate incorporates two features primarily the roller mechanism (b) that would allow the operator to interact with the device without any further assistance or power.
The rubber mats (a) both attached to the roller and fixed to the devices top platform with a spiked rubber finish offers exceptional stimulation to the base of the foot, this only whilst the operator removes his/her footwear.
