Abstract

The bag is a biodegradable gift-wrap solution for children's bikes, for both Christmas and birthday occasions. Each bag will carry cycling safety and bike maintenance guidelines for children on a removable laminated poster attached by hook-and-loop fastenings. The bags themselves are designed to be used after their initial purpose as a gift-wrap product has expired. Each bag may be closed by hook-and-loop fastenings at its mouth.

Description
Gift-wrap bag for children's bicycle cgound To date there has been no easy way to gift-wrap a child's bike for a Christmas or birthday gift.
To wrap a bike that is to be presented as a gift has meant the use of paper wrapping; this is a solution that gives poor results aesthetically and practicably. Specifically, there is no off the shelf product available to accomplish this task. It was decided to develop a product that would efficiently and easily satisfy the task of gift-wrapping a child's bike.
Essential Features The bike bag is made of biodegradable fabric and comes in three different sizes to accommodate a range of children's bikes.
The sizes are as follows: 40 x 50", 45 x 60", and 48 x 72".
There are four different designs of bag. There are two Christmas bags; one for a young child aged between 3-7 years and one for a child aged between 8-13 years. There are two birthday bags; again, one for a young child aged between 3-7 years and one for a child aged between 8-13 years.
Each bag carries safety guidelines to encourage safe cycling and the responsible maintenance of the child's bike. The bags are endorsed by RoSPA and SUSTRANS, who will each receive a percentage of the profit from each bag sold to further their aims.
The safety message is presented in two different formats to appeal to the two age ranges of children. The bike bags for the children aged between 37 years will carry a cartoon style picture featuring children cycling through a stylised environment. The cycle tips are demonstrated pictorially and through the use of 10 cycle tips. RoSpa has approved these cycling guidelines.
The bike bags for the children aged between 8-13 will carry a bike rap. The rap presents the same cycle safety tips as the one for younger children, but in a format more palatable to older children. Again, RoSPA has approved these cycling guidelines.
Both the cyclin rap and the cartoon will be printed onto laminate card and adhered to the bag with VelcrnTs provides the opportunity for the cycling safety guidelines to be used as posters in a children s bedroom, or in a communal environment shared by children, such as a school or after school activity group.
Each bag has sown seams witkon side being left open. The bike is wheeled into the bag and the open side is secured with Velbr "I'his means that the bag can be used for other uses, such as the storage of toys.
An important aspect of this invention has been to offer a gift-wrap that is not only educational, but also is enviromnentally responsible.
Introduction to the drawings
Drawing 1 - this illustrates the front of the bag, which will be printed with either a Christmas or birthday design. There are two Christmas designs and two birthday designs.
Drawing 2 - this illustrates the back of the which will not be printed. Instead, there will be a laminated poster adhered by means of Velojst?jps.

The bags will be produced in three sizes to accommodate a range of different children's bikes.
