Abstract

A sports boot tool has three main parts in which a stud key part (5) and a stud compartment (2) sandwich a cleaning blade part (3) to aid the maintenance of a sports boot. The stud key part includes two main types of keys (6), used to remove and secure sports boot studs, by fitting to and twisting the studs. Access to the stud compartment is provided by a clockwise twist-and-release lid (1). The blade part (3) dissects the stud key and compartment parts which includes an inserted cleaning tool, whereby detritus is scraped and removed from the boot, and a boot lace hook at it's opposite end (4), used in conjunction with bootlaces, to hook under and loosen them.

Description

Sports Boot Tool This invention relates to a sports boot tool.
Constant use of sports boots, e.g football boots, can result in them becoming hardened and uncomfortable. Maintaining and wearing the boots can consequently become an irritant to the user. Maintenance involves the care of the boot fabric, usually leather, laces and studs.
Post matchplay involves the loosening of tight, sometimes wet bootlaces, an irritant especially in cold, wet conditions - a tool to aid this situation would be beneficial.
Ideally boots need to be cleaned as soon as they are removed after playing.
Studs need to be checked before and after every game to remove damaged or secure loosened studs whereby an appropriate stud key is required.
According to the first aspect of the present invention there is provided a sports boot tool, including the means for engaging at least two different types of stud.
The preferred means for engaging comprises a hexagonal socket and a triple projection.
According to another aspect of this invention there is provided a sports boot tool including key means for locating a stud of a sports boot, the said means having at least one key type and blade for removing detritus from the boot.
Preferably the said tool includes a lace hook and advantageously part of the tool is hollow for accommodating studs A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings which; Figure 1 illustrates an exploded view of the tool; Figure 2 illustrates a removal end cap and possible removal method; Figure 3 illustrates possible means of stud access to the hollow part; Figure 4 shows the top elevation of the tool; and Figure 5 shows two preferable types of stud key means.
Detailed Description
Referring to the drawing figure 1, the tool comprises a hollow part (2) with a removal end cap (1).
Figure 2 illustrates how the end cap may be removed allowing accommodation for studs (figure 3), if required.
A blade means (3) is provided and the said tool preferably includes a lace hook (4).
There is a stud key retaining portion (5) that provides at least one key type (6).
The said tool includes means for engaging at least two different types of stud, illustrated in figure 4. Means for engaging comprises a hexagonal socket means (7) and a triple projection means (8) as shown in figure (5).
Although the tool is exploded into 9 parts in figure 1 the tool will be made with fewer components, in suitable materials, as desired.
