Abstract

A post securing device 1 has two apertures 2 separated by a bar 3. The lead, or leash or rope is threaded through the apertures of the device. The device may be positioned anywhere along the lead. In use, the loop created in the device may be enlarged by pulling the lead through the apertures. This loop may then be used to secure the lead over a stump or post. Alternately, the free end of the lead, may be placed around an object, fed through the created loop and the loop tightened to secure the lead. The bar dividing the two apertures may be hinged allowing for the device to be attached to the lead without the need for threading the free end through the apertures. The device may be manufactured from metal or plastic, and may be of varying sizes to accommodate differing thicknesses or widths of leads. The device, after being used to secure the lead, may be locked.

Claims (10)

1. A unit, with side gaps and a central solid section, attached to an animal's lead, leash or such like which is threaded through the gaps of the unit to enable a loop to be formed which loop can be placed on a stump or the like and tightened or which can receive and tighten on the lead top section and handle after it has been circled around a post or such like.
2. The unit or attachment according to Claim 1 can be rectangular in shape with a central solid unit which can slide in to form two side spaces and a central section or it can be hinged to effect the same result of central section and side spaces.
3. The unit or attachment according to Claim 1 and Claim 2 can be altered to form different sizes of side spaces to so accommodate different widths of animal leads.
4. The unit or attachment according to the above preceding claims will be fashioned from metal, plastic or like durable material.
5. According to the above preceding claims the lead is threaded through the spaces of the unit or attachment so that a loop can be formed when so desired by the user.
6. The loop according to Claim 5 can be made to fit over a stump and then tightened to secure the lead and animal.
7. The loop according to Claim 5 can be made to receive the top lead section and handle after the lead has been circled around a post or the like and then it can be tightened to secure the lead and animal.
8. The unit or attachment according to the preceding claims can remain static on the lead or manually made to move up or down.
9. The unit or attachment according to the preceding claims, after being used to secure the lead and animal, can be locked.
10. The unit or attachment according to the preceding claims can apply to any animal lead, canvas, chain, line nylon or otherwise, leash retractable or otherwise, reins or rope of any form to secure the animal.
