Abstract
A wrapper opener includes a guidance groove 1 on a leading edge 4 and a cutting edge 2 mounted to the flat surface 3 of the guidance groove 1.
Description
Wrapper Opener This invention relates to a wrapper opener for opening
cellophane wrappers used to package certain products, which is small, handheld and easy to use.
Such openers are well known but suffer the disadvantage that they are usually of a type, which have an open cutting blade, which can damage the product or persons opening such products.
The object of this invention is to provide a fast, easy and safe method of opening cellophane wrappers on certain products.
Accordingly this invention provides an ergonomic handheld device with a cutting edge that can be moved around the product to cut the cellophane wrapper used to seal the product.
Preferably the wrapper opener is made of plastics or metal materials, but it may be made from any material to match any preference or from a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which; FIGURE 1 shows a three dimensional view ofthe whole of the wrapper opener FIGURE 2 is a section showing the groove used to guide the product FIGURE 3 shows the part of the groove, which is to be used to house the cutting edge FIGURE 4 is a section showing the cutting edge protruding from the face the guidance groove.
As shown in Figure 1, the wrapper opener comprises of an ergonomic handheld unit having a guidance groove 1 on a leading edge 4 the groove I allows a safe and straight passage for the product along the cutting edge 2.
Figure 2 shows the depth ofthe groove I to be sufficient to safely house the cutting edge 2.
Figure 3 shows the area where the cutting edge 2 is to be positioned along the flat surface 3 of the groove I. Figure 4 shows the cutting edge 2 protruding from the flat surface 3 of the groove I When the product is held inside the groove 1 and moved in either direction the protruding cutting edge 2 is moved along the product wrapper and cuts open We product cellophane wrapper
Claims (5)
1. A handheld wraE,per-opening device including a cutting edge.
2. A wrapper-opening device where the cutting edge can be made from any suitable material.
3. A wrapper-opening device where Me cutting edge safely engages the product wrapper when the product is moved along the guidance groove.
4. A wrapper-opening device as claimed in any proceeding claim, which is made from metal, plastics materials, wood or any other materials or a combination of these materials.
5. A wrapper-opening device substantially as herein described above and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
