Abstract

A device for keeping a person's clothes and general appearance tidy comprises a combination of a suction cleaner, a vanity case and a torch. The device includes a detachable head section which has a brush and a plurality of holes connected to a suction motor, a body section which includes a plurality of compartments for storing items such as cosmetics and a torch section. A mirror can also be provided on the lid of the body section. The body section also houses the suction motor, the suction cleaner filter and the batteries.

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
1. THE IDEA Handy Valet (Triple Function) The "Handy Valet" as it is aptly called, Is made In four (4) sections, and all sections are cup-on which can be easily separated to replace or to make cleaning easy.
The whole unit is made from recycled plastic, and in various colours to suit the physiological and aesthetic sense of the customer Because of its small size, it can be conveniently carried In a traveller's briefcase, or ladies handbag or an overnight bag 2. CONSTRUCTION FEATURES As mentioned in the previous paragraphs the "Handy Valet" consists of 4 sectons: (a) The Bodv, which houses the suction motor, batteres & on/off swtch.
(b) The Head, which is detachable contains a plastic conical unit as a particle restrictor, which has a tube projecting in the direction of the suction at the end of which a small Abbe bag is attached.
(c) The Brush Base, which consists of bristles, and evenly spaced circular holes which lead into the particle restrictor and through which dust etc. is sucked.
(d) The Torch, this is the opposite end of the head, it can also be detached to clean or change the bulb 3. HOW THE IDEA WORKS The 'Handy Valet' works on 2 x 1 5 volt batteries When switched on with the aid of an on/off (double action) switch button located on the side (as shown In the drawings). The suction motor sucks the dust and other particles (lifted by the brush) through the suction holes Into the conical restrctor & through the tube into the fibre dust bag.
The dust bag is small, Inexpensive and replaceable] If light is required, the switch is pushed to the right and the torchlight comes on. It is powered by the common batteries (I e batteries for the motor) The top centre of the body has a ladies' vanity unit, by pressing the side, a lid springs open to reveal ladies' make-up material, with a small mirror on the inside of the lid The mnature lights whct-i automatically light up as the lid opens, aids make-up 4. THE IDEA IS A new product Idea.
5. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEA (a) Head, Height with the brush pad - 5 5cm (b) Head Width - 5cm Length - 5cm (c) Bristle Height - 5mm Length - 4cm Width - 4cm (d) Suction Holes Total Number -16 Holes Dia. 4mm Holes Depth - 1 Omm (e) Body (with the torch section) Height - 4cm Length - 10cm Torch only - 2cm Width - 4cm Total overall length - 1 5cm 6. SHAPE Rectangular with soft rounded corners.
7. TYPE OF MATERIAL USED The body, the head & brush base is made from recycled 5mm thick opaque plastic, possibly in the following colours Eggshell Grey Light pink 8. THE FEATURES THAT THIS IDEA HAS WILL MAKE IT UNIQUE AND
APPEALING
(a) What makes this idea unique is because there Is no competitive or an alternative product in the market that will do the j^b. The "Handy Valet" is designed to do with complete satisfaction & efficiency, (b) The "Handy Valets" design' shape, size and colours will make it eye- catching and appealing 9. THE NEED THAT"HANDYVALET"FILLS The need to keep one's clothes (i.e. suits, trousers, hats etc) clean and tidy for whatever may be the reason The need Is very great 10. BENEFITS TO THE USER The benefits to the user would be many folds and those are as follows (a) It will quickly and satisfactorily remove dust and fluff from the clothing when brushed.
(b) it will be quicker than the ordinary hand clothes brush or robber (c) Because of its suction quality, it will not allow the dust/fluff/dandruff or hair to settle on another area. (which generally happens when brushing with an ordinary brush) (d) The user would receive full benefit from the technology 11. WHAT PROBLEMS DOESIT SOLVE The 'Handy Valet' will solve the following problems (a) Quickly remove, dust, loose hair, dandruff and other dust particles from the clothes, without too much effort or waste of time on the part of the user.
(b) By carrying it in a briefcase, at the end of a Journey, or before a conference/meeting the user would have no problem in quickly giving his/her clothes a 'once over' and look neat and tidy.
(c) The Handy Valet" is the most useful and appropriate product when the user needs to clean his/her suede shoes or Jacket, without leaving a shine.
(d) The "Handy Valet" can be used on expensive ladies/gents strawhats where dust always tends to embed Itself, and cannot easily be brushed off properly with ordinary hand brushes It Is also extremely useful for expensive ladies and gents felt hats (e) The "Handy Valet" has a vanity case section, Incorporated In the design after a prolonged observation of working women during rush hour, to provide an additional aid to busy secretaries, or women In general who would like to make-up on the way to office or conference or a meeting. In the gents version, this compartment can be use:! for storing spare batteries or anything else they may prefer to keep (f) The "Handy Valet" has a torchlight which could be used In an emergency or in the event of need for light The "Handy Valet" has been designed to provide benefits to its fullest capacity a, , . . .' . lit

Claims (4)

1. The Handy Valet, a plastic body consisting of detachable head with brush and circular holes underside.
9. The Handy Valet, a plastic body as in claimed in I, the body with a motor compartment, a battery compartment, a compartment on the topside, and a lid with a mirror and two miniature bulbs for lighting for the facial make-up.
3. The Handy Valets operations are controlled by one on/off switch.
