Abstract

An extruded profile device 1 utilises two rebates 2 to engage and secure the edges of adjacent floor coverings. The profile, which may be cut to any appropriate length, is held in position by a series of fixings secured through a series of drilled holes 3. A rebated channel 4 in (what is, in use) the upper surface is used to locate an insert which may be of the same material as the adjoining floor coverings. The profile may be made of aluminium, plastics or steel.

Description
SAS 1 Flooring Profile The invention Is a flooring profile of the type used to join a range of floor coverings Trying to repair damaged weldedJonts on particular floor coverings can be problematic.
Traditional methods to effect repair are generally not successful and are often unsightly. This profile offers a method of repair, which is far more reliable and effective The profile may also be used when joining newly laid floor coverings The profile allows for the professional and efficient jointing of a wide range of floor coverings Accordingly, this mventon provides a profile and by utlsing the shape of the profile allows for the effective Joining of floor coverings Preferably the profile Is made from alummium, but it may instead be made from plastic or steel or from a combination of these A preferred embodiment of the mventon will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which.
figure I shows a front view of the profile Figure 2 shows a top elevation of the profile Figure 3 shows a side elevation of the profile.
As shown in figure 1, the profile comprises of an extruded channel (1) The profile Is drilled along its length as shown by (3).
The underside of the profile is rebated on either side (2) these rebates run the length of the profile The topside of the profile has a rebated channel as shown m (4) This rebate runs the length of the profile

Claims (1)

  1. Claims 1 An extruded profile used to Join a range of floor coverings, both
new and existing 2 The profile as claimed m claim 1 does this by utihsing two rebated channels on the underside of the profile, to retain the floor coverings A rebated channel on the top surface of the profile allows for a suitable insert to be located. The profile Is secured m place usmg a series of called holes through which the appropriate fixing may be located 3 A profile as claimed in claim 2, to secure and retam insitu a range of floor coverings 4. A profile as claimed in any preceding claim which is made form metal, plastics materials or from a combination of these materials A profile as substantially as herein described and Illustrated in the accompanying drawing
