Wood, treating with liquids.-Telegraph posts or other pieces of wood, after impregnation of the whole length with creosote, copper sulphate, or the like have their ends subjected to a further impregnation, the second treatment being carried out in an autoclave in which the posts or pieces are arranged vertically. The autoclave may be mounted so that it can be tilted, the first impregnation taking place with the posts horizontal.
