Abstract
A sharpener for different uses comprising a container 1, channel(s) 2a, 2b for the sharpening device S to rotate and move in the container and a device which supports the rotating sharpener. The sharpener may be used to sharpen cosmetic or lead pencils. Preferably the container 1 is an integral component and guide channels 2a, 2b may facilitate movement and rotation of the sharpener S. The end cap 5 of the container may be opened to remove waste or change to a different sized sharpener. A spring 6 may be provided in the container 1 to push the sharpener S back to its starting position after use. The sharpener may be electric, battery operated or it may utilise magnets and it may also have a light.
Description
PErNCIL SHARPErNER
Description:
This invention is of soft-core pencil sharpener or cosmetic pencil sharpener with some additional features.
In traditional manual pencil sharpener we insert the pencil in the sharpener and rotates the pencil or the hands with sharpener to sharp the pencil by engaging both hands but in this invention instead of hands or pencil the sharpener will rotate to sharp the pencil or soft lead cosmetic pencil.
It is accordingly an object of invention to provide a sharpener, which overcomes the above-
mentioned disadvantage of the prior art.
The sharpener rotates in a sharpener container or base, which may be a round shape I with paths inside 2. There should be at least one path in the container in which or on which sharpener can travel, these paths are in long circles such as grooves 2 which may be a fixed route or source of guiding channel starting form X and ending at the other side of container Y. The sharpener S has attachment means L and M or travelling means to travel in/on the paths of container 1, there should be at least one travailing mean with the sharpener such as a wheel or arm.
When the pencil is inserted in the sharpener S and instead or rotating if pressed inside the container 1 the force will make the sharpener to move backwards towards the end Y of container, but because the sharpener S is attached with the container I with attaching means or arms L/M which are actually in the paths 2a and 2b, this force of pencil will go on arms L/M and make it move in the paths of container 1 towards end Y by travelling in rounds. In this travel the sharpener S will travel inside the container 1 in rounds from first position X to end position Y and in result the pencil will get sharpen. The sharpener S is removable form container and also it can be of any shape as long as it moves in the container 1. This pencil sharpener with all its components can be used for different commercial purposes, for example it can be a toy sharpener if fitted in any animal or other things.
To bring the sharpener S to its starting location X there is a helping device such as spring 6 which can be attached with the cap 5 and the spring is also contacting with the sharpener to push it back to its starting position X, when the force on the pencil is released the sharpener will come back to its starting position X in the container. The sharpener may have energy, battery or magnetic support.
In accordance with an added feature of the invention, the sharpener S has cleaning device such as bristles 7, which will help to clean the inside surface of container I and to push the waste of the pencils towards the cap 5 or removable side of the container. This cleaning part 7 can be built on the sharpener.
In accordance with an added feature of the this invention the sharpener S will be rotating inside anti clock wise but if we change the paths 2aand 2b of the container 1 in opposite direction and make changes in sharpener respectively the sharpener S can work effectively clockwise.
In accordance with an added feature of this invention the sharpener can be replaced from removing the cap 5 with another size of sharpeners for different size pencils with different requirements of the leads such as in cosmetic use. And to see inside the container 1 it may be possible to make container I visible inside or window kind to see the core formation during the intended use of sharpener.
Although the invention is illustrated and described herein as dependent sharpener in particular for a soft-core pencil, it is nevertheless not intended to be limited to the details shown, since various modification and structural changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit of the invention and within the scope and range of equivalents of the claims.
The construction and method of operation of the invention, however, together with additional objects and advantages thereof will be best understood form the following description when read in connection with the accompanying drawings.
Figure I is a perspective view of a container I or base with paths 2a and 2b inside.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the side of the container with the sharpener S inside and the paths for the sharpener to move and rotate.
Figure 3 is fronts view of sharpener itself without container with two attachments either side L and M to sit in/on paths. The cleaning parts 7 such as bristles are also shown which can be on either side of the sharpener.
Figure 4 is a side view of the sharpener without container.
Figure 5 is a perspective view of container with the removable cap 5 and spring 6.
Figure 6,7, 8 and 9 are perspective view of the planned movements of sharpener S. Parts that correspond to one another are provided with the same designations in all the figures.
Refe'Ting now to the figures of the drawing in detail and first, particularly to Fig. I thereof, there is shown a container I type that includes paths 2a and 2b travelling in rounds and starting from X front side and ending to Y other side of the container, if you look at the Fig. 1 these paths 2a/b are not intersecting each other, it may intersect in the case if a different version of the container is made for a sharpener to move such as anti clock and clockwise in same container.
Fig. 2 is a side view of the container with the paths and also showing the planed position of the sharpener at the face of container X. Fig 3 is a front view of sharpener itself without container with two attachments either sides L and M to sit in/on paths 2a/lo. These attachments can be of round shape. The cleaning parts 7 such as bristles are also shown which can be on either side of the sharpener. The rear side of the sharpener can be in round shape Fig 4 to stop it interacting with the paths.
Figure 6, 7, 8 and 9 are the views of movements of sharpener when it is in use.
If you look at the figure 6 the pencil is inserted and you can see the arms or attachments L and M are left and right respectively, and the spring is forcing the sharpener S to stay at the front of the container! . In figure 7 when the force is applied on pencil towards Y the sharpener is moving in the paths in circles and the position of attachments is different as you can see M on top and L at the bottom, the spring is moving back because of the sharpener movement.
In figure 8 again the force of the pencil is rotating the sharpener S in the paths 2a and 2b making it travel in rounds by travelling backwards towards cap or Y. In figure 9 the sharpener S has travelled up to the end Y of container I travelling in rounds and the spring 6 is forcing it to move back to its starting position X. Although the information provided here with regard to figures are expected movements of the sharpener but these movements can be different as it depends upon the width, size and the length of the container.
The source for the sharpening device or the channel for the sharpening device to rotate and move in the container may use electric, battery or magnetite supports if other versions of this kind of pencil sharpener are made since various modification and structural changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit of the invention and within the scope and range of equivalents of the claims.
