Abstract

A reciprocating saw, which also may be described as a jig saw. The reciprocating saw comprises a housing 1, where the housing 1 has a leading housing (fig 2, 7) and a motor housing (fig 2, 2). The leading housing (fig 2, 7) houses a gear system 71, and the motor housing (fig 2, 2) containing a motor 6 therein. A first switch trigger 100 is disposed on a region of the motor housing 2 for activating a first switch 103 within the motor housing (fig 2, 2). In addition, a separate handle 10 is detachably mounted to the housing 1, where the handle 10 comprises a second switch trigger 12 provided for activating a second switch 101 disposed within the motor housing (fig 2, 2). The handle 10 further comprises a lever 16, the lever 16 operably connecting the first switch trigger 100 to the second switch trigger 12. Other features the reciprocating saw include a laser alignment device 4 and a scrolling means.
