Abstract

An inflatable angled laptop computer support 1, comprising an inflation valve 2 and one or more holes or internal ribs 6 to facilitate ventilation and provide stability. The internal rib(s) form bulges 7 which act as wrist supports and prevent items from slipping off the support. The support is designed to be deflatable and highly portable.

Description

POSTURAL ENHANCING AIRTIGHT RECLINING LAPTOP SUPPORT
PATENT APPLICATION
Title: Inflatable angled laptop and tablet pc support.
Background: Laptops are by design small. The keyboard and screen are permanently attached, preventing variability for different users other than distance of keyboard from body and tilt of screen. This causes bad posture of users because they are bent over to see the screen and keyboard. The neck and back are particular areas for concern. Eyestrain may also be a problem.
Tablet PCs have no fixed keyboard, but are generally used flat on a table.
This causes the user to bend over perhaps more so than at a laptop.
Statement of
invention: To overcome this, the present invention proposes an inflatable stand that angles the keyboard of the laptop, thus raising the screen height closer to the natural line of vision. This will help to straighten the back and neck, promoting better posture for the user.
Angling the tablet PC also improves posture and usability because the screen is at a more viewable angle.
Advantages: The product is completely deflatable, allowing it to be totally portable, lightweight and compact. Inflatability also gives the user control over the volume of air inside the product and therefore the size it can be inflated to, this allows optimum use by a variety of users. That is, the product can be inflated until it raises the screen to desired height for each user, which will be different in every case.
Detailed description: A sealed PVC unit, 1, (including inflation valve, 2) of any size, shape and configuration, is inflated. It is deeper at the back than at the front, forming an angled support on which to rest the laptop or tablet PC. This angle can vary between products. Angling the keyboard, 3, of the laptop raises the height of the screen, 4, and improves posture. Angling the tablet PC also improves visibility and posture.

Claims (19)

  1. Claims: 1 An inflatable angled support for a laptop or tablet PC.
  2. 2 The support, according to claim 1, can be used as a support for as yet undeveloped technologies and those already developed not mention above.
  3. 3 It can also be used for books or anything else which require angle or height adjustment to improve viewing and use.
  4. 4 The support can be totally deflated.
  5. The deflated support according to claim 2, is lightweight, compact and therefore highly portable.
  6. 6 The support can be used on a desk top, on the users lap, whilst in bed, on the sofa, in fact anywhere.
  7. 7 Internal ribs, can provide structure and support as well as stability.
  8. 8 Internal ribs according to claim 5, can form bulges, which act as a stopper for the keyboard or tablet which prevents them from slipping off the support.
  9. 9 Bulges formed according to claim 6, can also act as wrist supports.
  10. Internal ribs according to claim 5, can form an undulating surface which facilitates ventilation.
  11. 11 Sealed holes in the structure can also provide ventilation.
  12. 12 The angle of the profile angles the keyboard of the laptop thus raising the screen.
  13. 13 Raising the screen according to claim 12, improves posture ofthe user.
  14. 14 The structure includes an inflation valve.
  15. The valve, according to claim 1, can be of any description.
  16. 16 The support can be inflated by any means.
  17. 17 The support can be printed on for promotional purposes.
  18. 18 The support can be manufactured from any and incorporate other materials for cushioning and wrist support purposes.
  19. 19 The support can be any shape, size or configuration, e.g. figure 3.
