Abstract

A necklace and adjustment means b comprises a cord or chain, rubber tubing b and end stops c1 and c2. The cord or chain is threaded through the rubber tubing in opposite directions and pulled to shorten the length of the necklace. The rubber tubing grips the cord or chain when worn and the stops c1 and c2 prevent the necklace ends slipping through the tubing. The rubber tubing acts as a safety device since it is arranged to come apart and release the cord or chain should the cord or chain become inadvertently trapped and pulled.

NECKLACE ADJUSTABLE SAFETY DEVICE
DESCRI PTION
1, The adjustable safety device consists of short length of tubber tubing through which either ends ofthe coed or chain necklace pass through Mom opposite ends ofthe rubber tubing. Each end ofthe corct or chain Is preventeci from slipping back through the tubing by either belt, ore knot, or anything which prevents slippage back through the rubber tubing.
2, This is an adjustable safety device which IS also an adiusble feature, forming part of chain or cotd necklace, either as an aJomment itself, or to attach lewellery upon or other Items the user wants to keep atounc! theft neck.
3, This adjustable safety device enables the user to cletermine the length the cord, or chain necklace. iFthe user wishes to tighten the length ofthc COh] of chain, they would Alp either end ofthe coM or chain and pull them away Mom the tubbe'tubng.
4, The Invention is u noun In that It IS both ad Instable and a safety feature at the same time. For instance lathe cocci ot chain necklace were to become caught In machinery the tubber tubing would come apart and free the ends ofthe cords, releasing the Cohn or chain.
5, The rubber tubing IS of soft variety which allows the coM or chain necklace to be adjusted quite easily, but has the properties to grip the cords when they ate not Inferred with and prevent the cord. or chain from silpping through.
6, The cord or chain necklace In Itselfcoull have sporting use, such as carrying regrets whistle, ore lighter, ore mobile phone, ore biro. Conventional corners do not have combined safety and ad Instable device as this Invention does and that Is the crux of its uniqueness.
7, This Invention relates specifically to ad justable-safety device and not the coW or chain Itself. when the cords o'cha,n ends ofthe necklace ate pulled through they he flat against the wearers neck, therefore ate discreet and do not protrucle outwaHs. This is qIso unique feature, as Is the safety aspect. 1\ )
NECKLACE ADJUSTABLE SAFEh DEVICE
DRAWI NG
Illustration 1 This shows the necklace and short length of tubber tubing (b) with both encts ofthe coed or chain necklace (1) and (aid) passing through the rubber tubing (b) from opposite iltectons. On the tip of each ofthe ends of the cow or chain necklace are beads (c1) and (c2). The aim ofthe bead is to prevent the COPES silpping back through the tubing.
Illustration 2, This shows exactly the same as portrayed in Illustration 1, with the beacis (c1) anci (c2) eplacect by thickened end ofthe coed, this IS usually achieved by singeing the end ofthe cord, I call this the burnt ends' (11) and (ci2) with flame, which makes the ends melt brolly before havening. The lump of haHenec! cord end which results would be of size that would prevent the cows ends retuning through the tubber tubing (b), haying the same eject as the beacis (c1) and (car). A small knot on the encts ofthe necklace, labelled (1) anct ()could be employed to prevent slippage. i' 'N
