Abstract

Double compounds of theobromine or theophylline with calcium or strontium salicylate are prepared by combining theobromine or theophylline or their calcium or strontium salts with an equivalent molecular quantity of basic or neutral calcium or strontium salicylate, or by reacting with calcium or strontium chloride on alkali solutions of theobromine or theophylline and salicyclic acid. The products possess therapeutic properties. Examples are given.
