Abstract

A method of determining breeding values of individual animals (i) identifying possible parents of progeny, and (ii) genotyping of possible parents and progeny, and (iii) calculating parentage likelihoods and converting them to statistical probabilities, and (iv) estimating the breeding values of the individual animals the method characterised by the step of using a selected number of genetic markers in the genotyping.
