Abstract

A coat for full coverage of a horse, covering the body, the neck and head, and even the legs, with a zip fastening running along each side of the body. The zips may have a fabric covering which is held in place by hook and loop tape fastening. The coat may be made of a synthetic stretch fabric or a combination of synthetic stretch fabric and fly net for summer use. It may be shower proof It offers full mobility to the horse.

Description.
The Rug is for horses/ponies who require full coverage over there coaVbody/legs/neck, although this product is not water proof, it will be shower proof, it's designed when used for outdoors for a standard Rug to go over on top. This will stop the horse having any contact with mud.
The Rug fabric can also be made of half Lycra and half fly net and be used in the summer to keep the fly's and bugs at bay.
The Rug can also be used in the stable on cold days for extra warmth.
Designed to offer full mobility for the horse.

How the Rug operates

2a. 2 inch wide 9 inch circumference of elastic that will surround the pastern joint the rug fabric will cover the elastic, 2b the zip will be attached at the bottom end of the elastic connecting the two parts of elastic on the out side of the pastern joint this is the start of the whole zip, the elastic is to stop the fabric riding up the horse's leg. 2c elastic with the zip will start at 2b and join the elastic together then stat zipping the fabric together the fabric stops just above the horses Gaskin 3c on the front part of the horse's hind leg the fabric is still attached on back hind leg 3g, 3d is the zip changing direction and rejoining the fabric.
Figure 3, 3i a pocket for the tale to be put in to stop mud getting in the tale the fabric is the length of the dock, 3a this part of fabric has come down the horses back hind quarters and around the horses Ishcium the fabric than changes shape figure 3b runs down and around the inside of the femur, when the fabric reaches the fibula on the front hind it runs up the outside about Finches of the leg to meet the zip 3c.
The fabric will stop on the front part of the hind leg at the gaskin the zip will carry on to the horses flanks where is changes direction and makes a half circle shape it will rejoin the bottom side of fabric at ad joining the fabric that will go under the horses ribcage 3h, this fabric is an extension of the head/shoulder/legs fabric.
Figure 8, view of the rug before the rug is zipped to connect 3h to Of the fabric will hang in-between the horse's front legs before being zipped up, 3f is stitched to 3h at the top inside legs, this enables the front part of the rug to be one piece of fabric. The rug is zipped up to join 3d and 3h.

Putting the Rug on
Description.
Gather the rug up to have the nose hole in you hands put the horses nose in the nose hole Stretch over the horses head and pulled over the horses eye's to expose the eye holes, Pull the rest of the fabric over the ears and place in the ear holes, Pull the fabric down the neck and shoulders and along the horses back place the tale in the tale pocket, the fount part of the rug will drop in to place the zips are now in place to be zipped up

Claims (9)

  1. Claims 1. A full covering Rug for horse or other quadruped animal
    comprising two zips on either side of the horses body to connect the rug, the zips will run the whole length of the horses body form the bottom hind limb to the flanks to the ribcage to the triceps to the front bottom limb,
  2. 2. A full covering Rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the connection is started at the pastern joint with the zip, the zip, zipper's the whole rug together on the right side of the horse, this connects the hind leg, flank, ribcage, front leg.
  3. 3. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the connection is started at the pastern joint with the zip, the zip, zippers the whole rug together on the left side of the horse, this connects the hind leg, flank, ribcage, front leg.
  4. 4. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the flap fabric to cover the zips which fastens with Velcro attaches at either end will cover the zips and elastic for the length of the zips on the right and left side of the rug, stopping mud clogging the zip.
  5. 5. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the tale pocket is attached to the rug to and is the length of the dock.
  6. 6. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the fabric to connect under the horses ribcage and the horses front legs is an extensions of the fabric that covers the neck and chest and goes through the horses front legs, the fabric to join the front leg together is attached/stitched to the fabric at the top of the inside of the horses front legs, that is the out side of the fabric that goes under the ribcage, this connects under the horses ribcage when the zip to connect rug has reached the ribcage, as claimed in claimed in claim 3 along the out side of the horses body,
  7. 7. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the fabric has holes cut away in the head to allow the horse to see, hear, and breath.
  8. 8. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the fabric is made from any stretch material, or half stretch fabric and half fly netting fabric.
  9. 9. A full covering rug as claimed in claim 1, in which the fabric changes direction and shape at different point's of the rug; Ishciums, gaskins, tibias, femurs, flanks, base of ribcage, triceps, inside top font legs, head, neck, shoulder, chest, knee, elbow, hock, tale.
    A full covering rug constructed and arranged as hereinbefore described, as illustrated in the accompany drawings
