Abstract
A drawing pin has a head (1) and a shank (2) . The head (1) has a concave surface (3) facing away from the shank (2) . The shank (2) has a threaded portion.
Description
DRAWING PIN
The invention relates to a drawing pin of the type which includes a head and a pin for fastening paper or other objects to a drawing board, wall or any other surface.
This drawing pin is well known but suffers from the disadvantage of a head where the convex shape of the head faces outwards, away from the pin, so when pushing it into a drawing board of a medium or hard surface it can be difficult to get in and even more difficult when trying to pull the pin out as it is very hard to pull with the finger nails or to get a grip of any kind particularly when the edge of the pin head is pushed in either touching or very near the board surface. The opposite happens on soft or very soft boards where there is not enough grip and the objects on display tend to fall down easily when touched or knocked.
An object of this invention is to make a drawing pin with a spiral threaded pin where the concave side ofthe pin head of an uneven surface is facing outwards, away from the pin, thus with the concave side of the pin head matching the shape of the contact area of the thumb, greater pressure can be applied to push it in, also the sucker action achieved when pressing with the thumb against the concave side allows you to rotate the pin in a screwing motion to put it in and be reversing this action, unscrewing, the pin can just as easily be pulled out, without breaking or damaging any finger nails or the need of any implements to ease the pin out. The drawing pin can be made of metal or metal and plastic material.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the accompaniment drawings in which Figure 1 shows a top view of the drawing pin Figure 2 shows a side view of the drawing pin Figure 3 is a cross-section of side view of the drawing pin.
Figure 4 is the perspective view. )
Figure I shows a top view of the drawing pin. Number I relates to the drawing pin rounded in shape head. Number 3 relates to the uneven surface of the concave side of the pin head.
Figure 2 gives a side view of the drawing pin showing 4 the convex side of the pin head.
Number 2 shows the spiral threaded pin.
Figure 3 shows a cross-section side view of the drawing pin showing number 4 the convex side of the pin head. Number 2 shows the spiral threaded pin and number 3 shows the uneven surface of the concave side of the head.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the drawing pin. Number I relates to the rounded in shape head, number 2 shows the spiral threaded pin, number 3 shows the uneven concave surface of the pin head, number 4 relates to the convex shape of the pin head.
Claims (2)
1 A drawing pin head comprising an uneven concave surface facing outwards away from the pin.
2 A spiral threaded pin.
