Abstract
A waste bin lid protector comprises a pack of adhesive sheets 1 that is attached to the underside of a waste bin lid 2. Each sheet has a non-adhesive tab which allows the top sheet to be removed when soiled. The sheets are moisture and dirt resistant. The tabs may be arranged so that they do not rest on top of each other, and the last sheet of the pack may be distinct from the other sheets to indicate when a replacement pack is required. Each sheet may have odour neutralising, insect repellent, bacterial resistant properties or impregnated with perfume. The sheets may be made from metal, paper, or plastics.
Description
1 2407756 WASTE, BIN LID PROTECTION The invention relates to protecting
waste bin lids from getting dirty through the overl'illing of the bin with waste.
Waste bins provide an essential function but do suffer from having to collect all types of waste, many of which will leave debris stuck to the lid if placed in the bin above the rim of the main collection compartment. This debris, when left unattended, not only presents an unsightly mess on the bin lid, but could also harbour handful bacteria.
I'he object ol'this invention is to present a barrier of multiple layers between the bin lid and the waste, of which the top layer can be easily and quickly removed and disposed of when dirty to reveal a clean subsequent layer, thereby preserving both a clean and hygienic bin lid.
Accordingly, this invention is a pack of adhesive bin lid shaped dirt and moisture resistant sheets with non-adhesive removal tabs which allows the exposed sheet to be removed from the underside ol'the bin lid leaving the remaining sheets attached to the bin lid.
I'he non-adhesive removal tabs may be aligned so they do not rest on top of' each other, or aligned to rest on top of each other, and the last sheet will be distinct from the other sheets to indicate when a replacement pack is required.
Each sheet may have odour neutralizing or insect repellent properties or bacterial resistant properties or be impregnated with perfume, or prom a combination of these.
Preferably the sheets are made of plastics material, metal, paper or a combination of these materials.
The pack of sheets could be shaped to fit a variety of waste bin lids. Also, the pack could contain just a single sheet having some or all of the properties described.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: i'IGtJRE I shows the waste bin lid protection pack (though the thickness of the pack is not representative - the true thickness is not expected to be more than 4 millimetres) ol multiple sheets with an example ol'a waste bin that would be suitable as a recipient of the waste bin lid protection pack.
It can be seen in Figure I that the waste bin lid protection pack 1 contains multiple sheets and that each sheet has a 'tab' to ease the removal and disposal ol'the exposed sheet when soiled.
Inch sheet adheres to its adjacent sheet but does not leave a sticky residue once parted from it.
The last sheet would be distinct tiom previous sheets to indicate to the user that a replacement waste bin lid protection pack would be retluircd soon.
The waste bin lid protection pack woukl be fitted, as indicated by arrow 3, to the clean underside of a suitable waste bin lid 2 by means of an appropriate adhesive that leaves no residue when removed. - 3
