Abstract

A sleeve for a cigarette carton made from plastic or metal has a front, a back, two side walls and a base but no top. The cigarette carton is inserted through the open end of the sleeve. Two main embodiments are described. In the first embodiment, the side walls at the open end of the sleeve have a bevelled aspect, allowing access to the flip-top of the carton when it is inserted into the sleeve. In the second embodiment, all the sides of the sleeve have a rectangular aspect and semi-circular notches are provided at the top of the side walls to enable the top of the carton to be gripped between finger and thumb for partial or full removal.

Description

Cigarette Carton Container The Invention is purely a fashion accessory

designed to fit over tobacco manufacturers cigarette and cigar cartons/boxes.

The surfaces of the Cigarette Carton Covers may be finished and/or embossed in various formats to suit any company's logo or corporate image who wish to promote their products or services.

The open topped hollow box design of the Container allows cigarettes to be kept in their original tobacco manufacturers carton. The cigarette or cigar carton is placed Inside the Container, hand-in-glove style.

It is intended to manufacture the Carton Cover in two basic materials, plastic, using plastic injection moulding, and thin guage metal, fabricated by mechanical pressing process. The metal versions will be either ho or alumnium or alternative versions of both.

Two basic designs are as indicated on the accompanying drawings (4 sheets in total). Drawing I and 2 show one design and sheets 3 and 4 show the second.

The first version of the Container, as shown on sheets 1 and 2, allows the flip top lid of the cigarette carton to be exposed the cigarettes are removed in the conventional manner.

With the second version, as shown on sheets 3 and 4, the cigarette cartons are fully covered by the Container, apart from the top of the carton lid. The semi-circular cut outs on the sides of the Container allow the cigarette carton to be pulled out to allow flip top to be opened.

Both versions of the Container are open topped.

The Carton Containers will be manufactured in various standard sizes to suit the minor variations in the leading cigarette and cigar manufacturers carton sizes.
