Abstract
A cordless kettle for heating water includes a heating element 2 within an oil filled stainless steel container 6 beneath the water chamber of the kettle. Overheating is prevented by use of a switch and a bimetallic strip 3 within the oil filled heating unit.
Description
The Hardy Kettle Description
The Hardy Kettle incIovat ve feature i that i has an oil fd container at its base wh.h has se t a heats n:F coil and 3:imetal 1 ic scrip swat tcti this stops o-Terheating of the Hardy Mettle and also allows heating of even a smal1 amount of water even as little as a small cup t- 11.
The Hardy Kettle earl}: e removed from its power supply base for easy troub e free usage.

Fig 5.3 is an insulative nut which connects the heating coil to the bimetallic strip container. Fig 5.4 is the bimetallic strip of the heating coil. Fig 5.5 is an insulative nut which connects the heating coil to the bimetallic strip container. The bimetallic strip when cold Is in contact with the contact of the heating coil at Fig 5.5 but when the bimetallic strip is at boiling point then the contact is broken as the bimetallic strip bends away from the contact and the bimetallic strip no longer supplies the heating coil with electricity.

Fig 12.2 is the heating coil. Fig 12.3 is the bimetallic strip. Fig 12.4 and Fig 12.S are insulative nuts for connecting the heating coil to the bimt11ic strip contacts inside the bimetallic strip container.
Fig 12.6 is the stainless steel container which houses the heating coil, bimetallic strip switch an] which is oil filled. Fig 12.7 are screws.
Fig 13 is another three dimensional view of the base of the Hardy Kettle Fig 13.1 are the plug contacts.
Fig 13.2 is the heating coil. Fig 13,3 and Fig 13.5 are insulative nuts for connecting the heating coil to the bimetallic strip contacts inside the bimetallic strip container. Fig 13.4 is the bimetallic strip. Fig 13. 6 is the stainless steel container which houses the heating coil, bimetallic strip switch and which is oil filled.
Fig 13.7 are screws.
The Hardy Kettle is easy to clean. The top of the stainless steel Container which contains the heating coil, bimetallic strip and of has a smooth surface which can easily be wiped clean.
