Description

CONVENIENT READING DEVICE
This invention relates to a computerized book display.
Reading books at bedtime was a good way of getting to sleep but the books were heavy and uncomfortable on my hands, turning the pages was awkward tool when all the rest of your body was nice and comfortable and your hands aren't. The only thing I could think of to solve this problem was a lighter book where you didn't have to turn the pages. Another problem was getting up to turn the light off(l never did), so with a light up screen I wouldn't even need the light on.
According to the present invention there is provided a computerized book display comprising of an up to date quality flat screen that lights up and displays a book page by page. The book is on a small cartridge that inserts easily into the computerized book display.
The computerized book display is hand held lightweight and easy to use. It is a new, fun way of reading but it can be beneficial to people with poorly hands because there are no heavy books to hold and turning the pages is done by pressing a button. The screen lights up at the press of a button so you can read anywhere that dosen't have light. The computerized book display has a print size switch for larger or normal print. Also an automatic page save (ea.
Read to page 50 and it will save on page 50) Also an automatic save and switch offif the page isn't turned within so many minutes. The screen would need protecting when not in use, a pull down roller shutter mechanism could be used.
This invention would be more economical to distribute and store because the computerized book display and cartridge books are a lot lighter and smaller. It would be environmentally friendly as less paper would be used and it would cut down on printing costs. This idea of the invention could also be put on to a computer disc and used on a P.C.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be decribed by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which FIGURE 1 shows the front of the computerized book display, and the cartridge book.
FIGURE 2 shows the back of the computerized book display.
FIGURE 3 shows the packaging for the cartridge books.
Referring to the drawings the computerized book display's detailed descriptions follows l Page sized, up to date, quality flat screen to display the page of a book, with built in screen light.
2 Light weight and slimline preferably made from tough modern plastic. The overall width of the surround is about 13 cm the length abnout 20 cm and the depth about I id cm.
3 Kept inside a small space at the top of the computerized book display is a roller shutter mechanism that pulls down to protect the screen when not in use, that could also be made from lightweight strong plastic.
4 ON/OFF switch Switch for normal size print or larger size print for anyone who needs it.
6 The book. The whole contents of a book would be stored on the cartridge, to be displayed page by page on the computerized book display.
7 The place for the book (cartridge) to be inserted.
8 Light ON/OFF button, press once to light the screen.
9 Page LEFT button, press once to return to the previous page.
Page right button, press once to turn to the next page. ] l l Hole for the charger to be inserted to be recharged from the mains.
12 The back of the computerized book display.
13 Place for batteries. It could work offbatteries also.
l 4 The book cover. The small cartridge books could be packaged in a lightweight cardboard box that opens like a book and looks like a book from the outside and have all the original qualities that a book cover has, but it would be smaller. It could still be collected and presented on bookshelves.
