Abstract

A handle 2 for a bucket 1 comprises two sections 3,4 which are detachably connected to each other. The two sections can be detached from each other to separate the handle (as shown), thereby enabling the handle to be suspended from a ladder, scaffolding or the like. The two sections may comprise a latch 3 and a hook 4, or a pull-back lock (5, figures 3A to 4B) and hook (6, figures 3A to 4B). All of the parts, including the bucket 1 and handle 2, are preferably made of a plastic material.

Description

DESCRIPTION FIG 1A & IB. There are two designs for The Handle Locking Mechanism. The first is Fig 1A and 1B. Is a view of the plastic Handle (part 2) and plastic Locking Mechanism attached to a plastic paint-mixing bucket (part 1). This Handle Locking Mechanism is the Latching Lock. The Latch (part 3) and the Hook (part 4) is attached to the Handle and bucket by one nut and one bolt Thus with the nuts and bolts allow the Latch to move up and down or open and close when required. It allows the Handle to be attached/clamped on to other objects like a set of ladders or scaffolding. FIG 2A & 2B. This shows (part 3) the Latching Mechanism, which can move up and down from the handle to (part 4) the hook mechanism of the design when required. FIG 3A & 3B. There are two designs for The Handle Locking Mechanism. The second is Fig 3A & 3B.Is a view of the plastic Handle and plastic Locking Mechanism attached to a plastic paint-mixing bucket (Part 1). This Handle Locking Mechanism is the Pull Back Lock (part 5), and the Hook (part 6) is attached to the Handle and bucket by one nut and one bolt. Thus the nuts and bolts allow the (part 5) to move up and down or open and close when required. It allows the Handle to be attached/clamped on to other objects like a set of ladders or scaffolding. FIG 4A & 4B. This shows (part 5) The Pull Back Locking Mechanism. Where apart of this Lock can be moved back towards the end of the Lock to open, then when released it will close. When closed it should be positioned on (part 6) the hook mechanism.
DESCRIPTION Includes- Fig 1A The Latching Lock Mechanism (handle closed) Part 1 the bucket Part 2 the handle Part 3 the Latching Lock Part 4 the 1st Hook design. Fig 2B The Latching Lock Mechanism (close up & closed) + Parts 3 and 4. Fig 3A The Pull Back Lock Mechanism (handle closed) Part 1 the bucket Part 2 the handle Part 5 the Pull Back Lock Part 6 the 2nd Hook design. Fig 3B The Pull Back Lock Mechanism (handle open) + Parts 1, 2, 5 and 6. Fig 4A The Pull Back Lock Mechanism (close up & open) + Parts 5 and 6. Fig 4B The Pull Back Lock Mechanism (close up & closed) + Parts 5 and 6. FIG 1A & B. Disclosed is the plastic bucket (Part 1). Is the plastic Handle of the bucket and the Handle to which the Lock is attached (Part 2). Is the Locking Latch Mechanism adjacent to the handle by one nut and one bolt (Part 3). A view of the Latch open and closed on to the hook mechanism (Part 4). FIG 2A & B. Shows an enlarged 3D diagram of The Latching Lock Mechanism (Part 3). The second part to the Latching design shown is a hook to which the Latch can be clamped when closed or unclamped when opened as and when required (Part 4). FIG 3A & B. Disclosed is the plastic bucket (Part 1).Is the plastic Handle of the bucket and the Handle to which the Pull Back Locking Mechanism is attached (Part 2). Is the Pull Back Lock Mechanism adjacent to the handle by one nut and one bolt (Part 5). A view of the Pull Back Locking Mechanism open and closed, on to the hook mechanism (Part 6). FIG 4 A & B. Shows a enlarged 3D diagram of The Pull Back Lock Mechanism (Part 5). The second part to the Pull Back Locking Mechanism design shown is a hook to which the Latch can be clamped to closed or unclamped to open as and when required (Part 6).

Claims (8)

  1. CLAIMS 1 The Handle Locking Mechanism comes in two forms, the Latching Lock Mechanism and the Pull Back Locking Mechanism as illustrated in the diagrams. 2 The Handle Locking Mechanism is attached to the handle of a bucket. 3 The Handle Locking Mechanism is made out of plastic. 4 The Handle is made out of plastic. 5 The bucket is made out of plastic. 6 The Locking Latch Mechanism can move up and down, and open and closed. 7 The Pull Back Lock Mechanism can move up and down, open and closed. 8 The design for The Handle Locking Mechanism and the bucket includes four metal nuts and 4 metal bolts. 9 The Handle Hook part of the Mechanism is attached to the bucket by one of the four nuts and one bolts. The design for the Handle Lock Mechanism, as shown and described. CLAIMS Claim 1. A handle for a bucket comprising first and second sections which are detachably connected to each other at one respective end thereof, the other end of each section being joined to the bucket at opposite sides thereof, such that the two sections can be detached from each other to separate the handle, and wherein the first section of the handle includes a single curved handle member and locking member, wherein the single curved handle member is connected to the bucket at one end and pivotally connected at its other end to the locking member, the locking member including means for detachable connection to complementary means on the second section of the handle, the connection between the two sections being detachable by pivotal movement of the locking member within the plane of the handle. Claim
  2. 2. A handle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the locking member comprises a bar for latching engagement with a hook on the second section. Claim
  3. 3. A handle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the locking member comprises a hook for engagement in an aperture in the second section, an outer member being slid-ably provided on the locking member for retaining the hook in the aperture, thereby closing the connection between the two sections. Claim
  4. 4. A handle as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein all parts of the handle are made of plastic. Claim
  5. 5. A handle as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the handle is joined to the bucket using metal nuts and bolts. Claim
  6. 6. A handle as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the single curved handle member is joined to the locking member using a metal nut and bolt. Claim
  7. 7. A handle as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein detaching the two sections of the handle allows the handle to be attached to other objects such as ladders or scaffolding. Claim
  8. 8. A handle for a bucket substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
