Abstract

An electrical T connector has a plastic insulating cover and inlet holes 1 where three wires can be inserted. The wires are crimped in place at sites 2 on the metal inner section to connect the three wires. The connector can be used in a vehicle.

Description

T CONNECTOR
This invention is a pre-insulated 'T' shape connector for use with all electric wiring without the need of a junction box.
rl he pre-insulated T connector will make it possible to take an electrical feed from a source in a very confined space, ie, under tractor wing, inside panel of car, spur ring mains to wall lights in confined spaces, without the use of a junction box or insulation tape.
The T connector will allow you to branch off an electrical supply simply and efficiently.
it consists of three inlet holes to allow wires to connect to each other. The essential features are that it is quick, safe and compact.
The inner part of the T connector will be made of a metal material and the outer part made of plastic. The T connector will also be colour coded for different sizes.
Figure 1 shows the view and size of the plastic cover.
Figure 2 shows the inner section and size of the connector.
As shown in Figure i., the wires are pushed in through the inlet holes I and are crimped at the next section 2 which completes the circuit.
Figure 2. shows the inner part of the connector and where the wires would be crimped 3.
A T connector is ideal to fit towing sockets for vehicles, caravans. spotlights, flashing lights, headlight flashers and all 6 volts, 12 volts and 24 volts services.
Larger T connectors can be used for larger currents and larger wires ie, 240 volts and 440 volts. 2.
To fit a trailer light socket on the rear of a vehicle, first you would locate the wires needed, ie, for side lights, indicator lights and stop lights. Then cut the wires and put the T connectors in their place and finally put the individual wires from the trailer light socket to the T connectors so the electric feed goes to the light socket.
To wire up spot lights on the front of a vehicle, place the T connector in the high beam light wire, then put the wire from the spot light to the other inlet hole of the T connector.

Claims (2)

  1. Claims I For example if you wanted to put a trailer light socket on the
rear of your car or van you would find the wires needed eg - Side Lights, stop lights, And Indicator Lights.
Then cut the wires and put the connectors in there place. Then put the individual wires the trailer Light Socket to the connectors. So the electric feed goes to the light socket.
  2. 2 For wiring up spot lights on the front of your vehicle you would put the connector in the high beam light wire. Then put the wire from the spot light to the other inlet hole of the connector
