Abstract
A self massage aid comprising two triangular shaped compartments 1 stitched on top of two six-sided compartments 2 all filled with poly-pellets or other suitable filling and joined together by a dividing section of reinforced cotton 3. The top triangular shaped compartments 1 may have a firmer filling than the bottom six-sided compartments 2. The massage aid may also comprise a single unit having two compartments (6, 7 fig 8). Alternatively, the massage aid may comprise two, one-piece triangular compartments (4, fig 5) joined together. The massage aids may be used on the bed or floor, and the user may lie on them to massage their back using their own body weight.

THE DESCRIPTION
THE TITLE: SELF-MASSAGE AIDS Backoround The Self-Massage Aids A, B&C, figures 1-10, help to alleviate back pain and tension.
They are simple tools to use, any able bodied person can use them. It does not take any effort on the part of the person using them; therefore no strain is caused by their use.
The Massage aids make use of the body weight of the person as they lay back onto the aid. They should either be used on a medium to firm bed, or on a blanket on the floor.
Massage aids A&B, figures 1-7, have two triangular shapes joined together, so when the person lies back onto them the pressure created will stimulate the back muscles close to the spine, fitting into the laminar groove. The design of the aid then allows it to be opened wider to allow the muscles up to three inches away from the spine (erector spinae muscles) also to be stimulated.
Massage aid C, figures 8-10, helps to alleviate lower back pain, sciatica and tension from the sacrum area and gluteal muscles.
Massage aid C, figures 8-10, consists of a pyramid shaped compartment stitched on top of a six-sided shaped compartment. When the person lies back on to massage aid C it will sink deeply into the gluteal area, releasing tension.
It is very easy to re-position the aids to any area of the back, sacrum and gluteal muscles. Complete control is given to the person using the aid. They can gage how long each area is to be stimulated as well as where they need to position the tool for maximum relief from tension.
The Massage Aids help alleviate: Lower back pain and stiffness Stiffness between the shoulder blades General tightening of back muscles due to imbalance in body Tension throughout the back Sciatica Tension in gluteal muscles Essential Features Massage aids A, B&C, figures 1-10, are made from strong cotton or man made fabrics stitched together and filled with Poly-pellets (small polypropylene pellets) or any other suitable filler.
Aid A, figures 1-4, consists of two triangular shaped compartments], and two six sided shaped compartments 2, joined together by a dividing section of reinforced cotton 3.
Aid B. figures 5-7, consists of two triangular shaped compartments 4 joined together by a dividing section of reinforced cotton 5.
Aid C, figures 8-10, consists of a pyramid shaped compartment 6 stitched on top of a six-sided shaped compartment 7.
INTRODUCTION TO DRAWINGS
Figure 1 shows a 3dimensional-angled view of Self-Massage Aid A Figure 2 shows a 3dimensional face on view of the Self-Massage Aid A Figure 3 shows a front view of Self-Massage Aid A Figure 4 shows a side view of Self-Massage Aid A Figure 5 shows a 3dimensional-angled view of SelfMassage Aid B Figure 6 shows a front view of Self-Massage Aid B Figure 7 shows a side view of Self-Massage Aid B Figure 8 shows a 3dimensionalangled view of Self-Massage Aid C Figure 9 shows a side view of SelfMassage Aid C Figure 10 shows a top view of Self-Massage Aid C As shown in figures 1- 4 Massage aid A, figures 14, has two triangular shaped compartments 1, stitched on top of two six sided shaped compartments 2. This allows all compartments to be filled individually. The top compartments 1 are firmer than the bottom compartments 2, i.e. more filling per cubic cm. This allows the top compartments to remain firm, pressing evenly into the back muscles whilst the bottom compartments create a firm base allowing some movement and flexibility.
There is a dividing section of cotton 3 between the two six sided compartments 2 in Massage Aid A which is not filled with poly-pellets. This area is re-enforced with stitching. This allows the space between the two main compartments to be altered.
As shown in figures 5-7 Massage aid B. figures 5-7, have two triangular compartments 4 joined together. The two compartments are of equal size. There is a dividing area of cotton fabric re- enforced with cotton stitching 5 that is not filled with poly-pellets. This allows the space between the two compartments to be altered.
As shown in figures 8-10 Massage aid C, figures 8-10, consists of a pyramid shaped compartment 6, stitched on top of a six-sided shaped compartment 7. Both compartments are filled with poly- pellets.
