Abstract

A plant pot which is pyramidal in shape with a wide base 6 and a narrow top 5. The plant pot sides 7 and 8 are openable being hinged about the point at which they meet the base. The edges of the sides are connected by a flexible gusset 4 which may be made of webbing. The sides have clips 2 which may be secured into locks 3 thus maintaining the integrity of the pyramidal shape of the pot.

Description

PLANT POT
DESCRIPTION
My invention relates to a plant pot of the type found in gardens and on shelves, which are used to hold plants and flowers.
I have found that after a particular plant is potted it often becomes top heavy and unbalanced due to growth.
The plant pot is pyramid shaped and has a wide base area to provide greater stability for top-heavy plants. This also allows for the roots of the plant to grow more freely and therefore balancing a top-heavy plant.
The plant pot is pyramid shaped with a wide base area and a smaller top area. The sides of the plant pot can fold out and are joined by a flexible material to contain the plants soil. The plant pot can be secured in a pyramid shape or released to allow a plant to be potted or taken out.
Preferably the plant pot is made of plastic, rubber or metal.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE I shows a side view of the plant pot; FIGURE 2 shows a see through view of the plant pot; FIGURE 3 shows a side view of the plant pot with the clips released from the locks; FIGURE 4 shows a top view of the plant pot; FIGURE 5 shows a top view of the plant pot with the clips released; FIGURE 6 shows a side view of the clip and lock when released; FIGURE 7 shows a side view of the clip and lock when locked; FIGURE 8 shows a top view of the plant pot with the clip and lock in the locked position; FIGURE 9 shows a top view of the plant pot with the lock and clip released; FIGURE 10 shows a freestanding see through view of the plant pot; FIGURE 11 shows a freestanding view with the clips released; FIGURE 12 shows a freestanding view of the plant pot.
As shown in figure 1 the plant pot 1 in the standard posture. Figure 1 shows the shape that the plant pot 1 would be in while holding a plant, with a wide base 6 and a narrow top S. Figure 2 shows a see through version of the same plant pot 1 with the clips 2 locked in lock 3, and where the webbing 4 would be folded in along the corners.
Figure 3 shows a side view of the plant pot 1 with the clips 2 released from locks 3 allowing for sides 7 and 8 to fold out along with the webbing 4.
Figure 4 shows a top view of the plant pot 1 in the standard posture in which a plant would be standing.
Figure 5 shows a top view of the plant pot with the clips 2 on side 7 released from locks 3 on side 8 allowing room for a plant to be potted or taken out. The webbing 4 is used to contain the soil and supports and joins sides 7 and 8 together.
Figure 6 shows a close up of the clip 2 and the lock 3 in the released position allowing sides 7 and 8 to fold out.
Figure 7 shows a close up of the clip 2 and lock 3 in the locked position. In this position the plant pot would be in a pyramid shape.
Figure 8 shows a top view of the plant pot 5 with the clips 2 locked in position by locks 3. There are two clips 2 on each side 7 and there are two locks 3 each side 8.
Figure 9 shows a top view of the plant pot 5 with the clips 2 released.
Figure 10 shows a freestanding see through view of the plant pot 1 with the clips 2 on each side 7 and the locks 3 on each side 8 and the webbing 4 folded in on the inside of the plant pot.
Figure 11 shows the plant pot 1 in a freestanding position with the clips 2 released. In this position a plant could be potted or taken out because of the extra room that is given by sides 7 and 8 folding out, the webbing 4 that joins the sides 7 and 8 together is used to hold inside any soil from the plant.
Figure 12 shows the basic shape of the plant pot in a freestanding position.
The plant pot when locked by clips 2 in locks 3 is pyramid shaped with a wide base 6 and a small top 5 shown in figure 2. When the clips 2 are released from locks 3 sides 7 and 8 can fold out and the webbing 4 that's joins sides 7 and 8 together allows extra room for a plant to be potted or taken out.

Claims (6)

  1. CLAIMS. 1.
The plant pot is pyramid shaped with a wide base and a Smaller top, the plant pots sides can be folded out and are joined by webbing to contain the plants soil and allow room for a plant to be potted or taken out, the sides of the plant pot can then be secured to regain the plant pots original pyramid shape.
  2. 2.
As claimed in claim 1 the plant pot has a wide base to allow greater stability and for the roots of the plant to grow.
  3. 3.
A flexible material is used between the corners of the plant pot as webbing to allow the pyramid shape to fold out and plant to be potted.
  4. 4.
Clips are used to lock the top of the plant pot.
  5. 5.
The sides of the plant pot fold out.
  6. 6.
The lock device could be similar to that on a videocassette box.
