Abstract

A bag, rucksack, backpack, hold-all or the like comprises a solar panel 1 connected to an electronic device such as a mobile telephone, walkie talkie or the like 8 transported within the bag, rucksack, backpack, hold-all or the like so that the electronic device may be recharged or operated. The bag may be adapted so as to indicate that the solar panel is operable and/or in operation, which may be achieved by using a visual display 7. The bag is especially suitable for walkers, hikers or other people spending time away from a fixed electricity supply.

Description

SOLAR POWERED BAG
Introduction
The invention is to attach a solar panel to a rucksack, carry bag, holdall or similar carrying means in order that any electrical / electronic device may be recharged or operated whilst the owner is away from a fixed electricity supply.
Background
Just imagine that you are walking over the black mountains and the day is great and all of a sudden the night roles in and you are about 10 kilometrcs from the end of your day and the campsite where there is a camp check in team waiting for you. And then suddenly one o. the walkers has a nasty accident, what Well one or two of your team could go ahead and tell the camp check in team what's happened that's all well and good but what if there is just you and the injured party on the hill what do you do then? Well you could leave the injured party on the hill and get help but if you then realise that you couldn't leave the injured party so then you think I will use my phone or CB radio that you might have on you but then you realise that the battery was flat and then you can't get you or your friend to safety so you spent the night on the hill.
This is where the invention could have come in useful it's a bit of extra weight but there is piece of mind because you could have recharged your electrical appliance while you were on the move and you would then have been able to use it in any emergency. Clans
