Abstract

A key holder comprises a strap which may be secured around the wrist of a user and which is provided with key retainers 4 to hold keys attached to supports 2 on the strap. The ends 1a, 1c of the strap may be secured to one another using hook-and-loop type fastener. The key retainers may comprise a plurality of elasticised loops or slots or recesses. The key holder may have a soft and/or padded lining 5 to make the key holder more comfortable to use. The device is particularly suited for storing the keys of someone engaged in physical activity, such as jogging since the keys will not rattle or fall out of the holder.

Description

Combination Keyring and Key-holster This invention relates to a key-
holster, which can convert into a keyring.
Key-holsters are relatively well known devices, which usually comprise of a small pouch that can be strapped lo the arm, waist or ankle. Whilst the person is out exercising, jogging and running in particular, their house or vehicle keys are placed in the pouch to prevent them from falling out of a pocket or rattling in a pocket, or in the majority of cases, where no pocket exists. These pouches do however not fully satisfy the 'key' problem in that the keys still rattle and shake about within the pouch. These pouches are generally uncomfortable and the rattling makes them even more so.
According to the present invention there is provided a wrist strap with elasticized slots or recesses in which the keys can be held. The keys may be removed from the slots or recesses but will still remain attached to the strap by rings, cords or elasticized loops.
Suitable fastenings hold the strap around the wearer's wrist or in its rolled-up condition as a keyring.
The invention is defined in the accompanying claims.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective a key-holster of the invention in its rolled-up condition with key attachment loops shown as protruding Figure 2 illustrates the unrolled key-holster of Figure 1 with its loops, key slots, and fastening means.
Figure 3 illustrates the other side of the holster of Figure 2 with attachment devices, lining, and loops, and Figure 4 shows the key-holster of Figure 1-3 in the form it would take around a wearers wrist with one key held in a slot and secured by a loop Referring to the drawings, the holster comprises a strap (3), which can be secured both around the wrist, and, in its rolled-up form as a keyring, by for example Velcrotosimilar means (not shown) ( I) The elasticized key loops (2) are attached by their free ends to the strap and are of a sufficient length to enable keys to be secured lo the loops and to be positioned into the key slots (4) without having to remove them from the key-holster once unrolled. /
The slots are spaced apart and formed on the strap by securing rectangular pieces of fabric transversely to the strap along their lateral edges so as to have the ends open for a key of a variety of lengths to be inserted into it.
In order to make the holster as comfortable as possible, a soft lining (5) is attached to the reverse side of the strap as illustrated in Figure (3)
