Abstract

A digital SOS talisman comprises a mobile phone 1 on which is stored personal data, e.g. name, next of kin, blood group, allergies or medical conditions. The phone carries software enabling the data to be extracted using the phone's IMEU identification and displayed in the event of an emergency. The data may also be transmitted by wireless or wired connection, e.g. to a second machine 2 capable of storage, retrieval and display.

Description

Digital SOS Talisman The present invention relates to SOS Talismans and
particularly to SOS information that can be stored on a mobile phone and other connected machines.
In situations whereby a patient or victim is rerouted unconscious (for instance in a road traffic accident or in a brutal street attack) it is imperative that medical staff have enough information regarding that i person to ensure their safety if drugs or specific medical attention needs to be administered quickly.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a system that will allow the storage, retrieval and transmission (if necessary) of personal SOS information in an nergency situation. This information may include but is not limited to, Name, Next of Kin, Blood Type, Allergies and Medital Conditions.
According to the present invention a Digital SOS Talisman system comprises at least executable code run from software or hardware on a mobile phone to store and retrieve SOS information from memory, chip or other storage medium. The IMEI number of the mobile phone handset (unique to each mobile phone) can be used as a key to retrieve the SOS information stored on the handset, or other connected machines.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will allow the transferral of SOS information via wire or wireless transmission between connected machines. Connected machines can comprise of any electronic device capable of transfemng information by means of wire or wireless communications.
Information identifying the, or each, SOS data may be stored on electronic storage means disposed on any of the connected machines.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 is a schematic plan of a first embodiment of the system according to a first aspect of the present invention.
Referring to figure a digital SOS talisman system comprises a mobile phone 1 and executable code (not shown) operable to display and/or transmit SOS information 3 therefrom, a connected machine 2 and executable code (not shown) operable to receive the SOS information 3 and provide this information to the required emergency servLes (not shown).
In a further embodiment of the invention a Digital SOS Talisman system may comprise GPS information (not shown) included with the transmitted SOS information 3.
