Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for capturing the fluid pressure of a fluid. The apparatus is submerged just below the surface of the fluid and comprises a first reservoir (1) in communication with a second reservoir (3) via a series of power generating devices (6). The first reservoir has a two-dimensional array of inlet valves (2) to admit fluid when the fluid pressure above the apparatus exceeds that in the first reservoir. The second reservoir has a two-dimensional array of outlet valves (4) to release fluid when the fluid pressure above the apparatus is below that in the second reservoir. The power generating devices generate power in response to the flow of fluid from the first reservoir to the second reservoir caused by the difference in fluid pressure between the two reservoirs.
