Abstract

A manual Ring Pull Lifter 1, / Opener 2 made from a single piece of a flat metal material uses a tapered hook( but not to a point) 1, and a bevelled tip ( 5, fig 2) to raise a Ring Pull on beverage and alcohol cans and slip it into a concave support or retainer (6, fig 2) securing it in a rotatable position. From this point the Ring Pull can be pulled through a 130 degree angle to open the beverage or alcohol can and in just one movement. The Lifter / Opener can be applied to a Ring Pull on certain types of food containers using a "Pull Through Angle" of 30 degrees. A handle 3 may be provided with a plastic sheath to provide greater comfort to the user, and may be provided with a hole 4 to allow the handle to be attached to a key ring.

Description

A Ring Pull Lifter / Opener having Bottle Opener This invention is a
manual Lifter /Opener for beverage, alcohol cans and certain types of food containers which use a Ring Pull to open them.
It also has a Bottle Opener incorporated into the design.
Both Openers are separate, but they are made from the one piece of material.
The invention can be attached to a key ring and carried anywhere on or about ones person.
The invention will lift a Ring Pull on beverage, alcohol cans,some types of sealed food containers and will aid with the opening of the above mentioned.
Using this invention will eliminate getting a broken finger nail and the need to use one's finger (s) at all to lift a Ring Pull and open beverage, alcohol cans and certain types of food containers.
A Lifter /Opener will slip underneath a Ring Pull lift it slightly and slide it into a secure retaining position. Using the Lifter /Opener the Ring Pull can then be pulled through a 130 degree angle to open a beverage or alcohol can.
The invention has a handle, just above the handle there is a Bottle Opener.
Above the Bottle Opener and at the upper end of the invention there is a flat tapered hook ( but not to a point) with a bevelled tip and concave support collectively they are known as the Lifter /Opener.
This Lifter/Opener will lift and secure a Ring Pull on a beverage, alcohol can or certain types of food containers and open them with just one manual movement.
A single piece of a flattened metal will be used to make the invention and a plastic sleeve will cover its handle.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure I shows a plan view of the Lifter/Opener having Bottle Opener.
Figure 2 shows an elevation view of the invention.
Figure] shows the Lifter/Opener 1 at the upper end. Below Lifter/Opener I there is a Bottle Opener 2, from this point the Lifter/Opener narrows down to form a handle.
A plastic sleeve 3 can be pushed on over the handle. Sleeve 3 will increase the surface area of the handle and provide greater comfort to ones hand when using the Lifter/Opener.Sleeve 3 can also be used to carry advertisements Company names and logo's.
At the lower end of the Lifter/Opener there is a hole 4 in the handle which will allow it to be attached to a key ring.
Figure 2 shows the curved shape of the Lifter/Opener I and its bevelled tip 5.
With the bevelled tip 5 placed on top of a beverage or alcohol can and using handle 3 to pull the Lifter/Opener directly in a backwards movement towards the Ring Pull will allow bevelled tip 5 to slip underneath the Ring Pull and lift it slightly. Continuing to pull the Lifter/Opener backwards will slide the Ring Pull into the concave retainer 6 and secure it in a rotate able position.Now that the Ring Pull is in a secure position and still pulling backwards the Lifter/Opener should be raised gently so that the Ring Pull can rise and open the beverage or alcohol can.
Now that the beverage or alcohol can is open, pushing the Lifter/Opener forward will remove the Ring Pull from the concave retainer 6.

Claims (3)

1 A Ring Pull Lifter / Opener having Bottle Opener will use a flat tapered hook ( but not to a point) with a bevelled tip to raise a Ring Pull and slide it into a concave retainer,so that together they can be manually pulled through 130 degrees thus opening the beverage or alcohol can/container.
2 A Lifter / Opener as claimed in claim I will have a soft plastic sleeve covering its hardened handle to increase its area.
3 A lifter / Opener as claimed in claims 1 and 2 which is made from a metal plastic material or a combination of both.
