Abstract

A flat bodied fishing float with two opposing sharp edges which reduce the drag when using the float in a fast flowing river. An eye fitted to the side of the float is positioned to hold the float upright in the water when attached to the line. In use, the fishing line is fed through the eye and then fixed by a sleeve to a wire fitted to the bottom of the float. The lower part of the float is shaped like a rudder to hold the float in position in the current.

Description

Why this float is different from any other floats, and why I designed it..
.
When using conventional floats, the drag kept pulling the float under, so I thought I would design my own, for my favorite style of fishing, which is to hold the float back in the flow.
It has two sharp edges, so it cuts through the water with hardly any drag.
The eye on the side, (Figure Al), is positioned to hold the float upright whilst holding it back in the flow. This is achieved by placing the line through the eye and fixing to the bottom wire, (Figure A2).
The lower part is shaped like a rudder to hold the float in position in the current Figure A2.
The wire on the bottom of the float with a sleeve, is to retain the fishing line at the correct depth - (Figure A2).
