Abstract

The seat, has a body (H) which supports the rider only in respect of the buttocks avoiding crotch contact. The seat can be adjusted to suit the cyclists specifications. Vertical height / positioning can be adjusted by raising / lowering a post (A) into / out of the bicycle frame. This is fixed by tightening the clamping fixture which is ordinarily attached to the bicycle frame. Horizontal positioning is adjusted by loosening a clamp (D) to move back and forth along a longitudinal bar (C) integral with the post (A). The seat's tilt is adjusted by the loosening of points (J) of a clamp which release a bar (G) from between the clamp allowing the bar to rotate and thus adjusting the tilt. The tightening of points (J) will hold the tilt in its chosen position.

Description

The Hero Crotch Contact Bicycle Seat.
This invention relates to a bicycle seat.
Since bicycles were first invented the design of the seat/saddle has remained relatively similar in shape. The saddle has always been designed to support the majority of the cyclist's weight on their groin/crotch.
A bicycle seat that runs perpendicular to the bicycle frame supporting the riders weight on their buttocks thus minimising contact with the rider's crotch.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 shows in perspective the bicycle seat.
Figure 2 illustrates a side view of the seat.
Figure 3 shows a frontal view of the seat.
Figure 4 shows a rear view of the seat.
Figure 5 shows the underside view of the seat.
Referring to Fig 2, the seat comprises of a seat post (A), which is inserted into the bicycle frame in the same manner as any other bicycle seat, releasably secured to the frame by a bolt, clamp mechanism which allows for adjustment of the seats vertical positioning.
The vertical seat post (A) is forged into the horizontal at point (B). This provides a horizontal runner (C) for the seats position to be moved forwards and backwards to suit the rider's specification. The horizontal adjustment of the seating position is enabled by releasing point (E), a bolt, which in turn allows (D), a clamp to move along (C).
Referring to Fig 5, (G) is securely attached to (H) at points (L). Referring back to Fig 2, the top plate (F) bolts down to (D) at points (J) , which in effect clamps (a) in to position. The tilt of the seat can be adjusted by the loosening of points (J), rotating G as shown at K to the required position before tightening (F) to (D) at points (J).
