Abstract
A convertible baseball cap comprising a visor 1 and skullcap 4 that may be assembled together and worn as a baseball cap Fig 5 or individually as a visor (Fig 1, 2) or skullcap (Fig 3). The visor and skullcap may have stretchable sweatbands 2, 5 to allow the devices to fit a range of head sizes. The visor may have a ferrous metal (3, Fig 2) in the sweatband that may be detachably attached to the magnetic elements (6, Fig 4) in the skullcaps sweatband thereby forming the baseball cap. A logo or trademark may be embroidered on the sweatbands 2 and 5.

CONVERTIBLE BASEBALL CAP
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the invention:
The invention relates to a self-size baseball cap, to fit a range of head sizes, and which can be convertible in a visor or a bonnet according to the needs of the wearer.
Description of prior arts:
Different systems of cap with removable components are known in the prior art, but their design and the materials used for their creation, in general zip, hook and loop fasteners or snap fasteners, did not provide a good comfort and a good look to the wearers when the components was removed and used alone.
The present invention can be distinguished from FR patent No.2765458, a variable combination cap. This reference shows a cap constituted of two or three parts, a visor, a crown, and a skullcap, removable. Each part is attached to the others by a zip or hooks and loop fasteners; the visor cannot be worn alone because there is no means to fit it on the wearer's head, so the visor must be attached at the skullcap or at the crown. The skullcap has an open portion on the back and the crown uses a buckle to fit on the wearer's head.
The present invention is constituted of two elements; a visor and a skullcap removable, each element has a sweatband to fit to a range of head sizes when they are worn alone or assembled, each sweatband goes around the wearer's head without need of a fastener. The visor and the skullcap are attached by magnetic elements.
In the U.S. patent No.5099524, another cap constituted of three components, a visor, a crown, and a sweatband, is described. The sweatband component use an elasticized strap assembly "for a head size adjustment", and the components are attached to each other via hooks and loop fasteners.
The present invention is constituted of two elements; a visor and a skullcap removable, each element has a sweatband to fit to a range of head size when they are worn alone or assembled, each sweatband go around the wearer's head without cut.
The visor and the skullcap are attached by magnetic elements.
The objective of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantage of the prior arts by providing a comfortable and a good looking cap in any variety of way it is worn, and which can fit to a lot of head sizes without the need of any adjustable elements, such as buckles.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap but having the possibility to be worn like a cap, like a visor, and like a bonnet.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a convertible cap constituted of two elements, a visor and a skullcap. Each element is removable and can be worn alone without the need of the other element. To fit to a range of head sizes, when the elements are assembled or worn alone, each element has a stretchable sweatband.
For assembling the elements and having the possibility to wear the present invention like a baseball cap; a ferrous metal, such as an iron bar, is put inside the visor in the front; and a magnetic material, such as magnets, is put inside the skullcap, on the stretchable sweatband.
When the components are assembled we obtain a baseball cap, the look of the cap is original, different of the baseball caps at the present time, because the sweatband of the skullcap goes around the cap and covers the entire visor.
On each sweatband, a logo or a trademark can be embroidered. So, with the particular location of the skullcap's sweatband when the present invention is worn, it catches people's attention. Compared to the others caps using a sweatband to fit on the wearer's head, their sweatband is embroidered in the cap, and is not visible by the public when the cap is on the wearer's head.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIGURE I shows the visor; FIGURE 2 shows the inside of the visor with the ferrous metal; FIGURE 3 shows the skullcap; FIGURE 4 shows the inside of the skullcap with the magnetic elements; FIGURE 5 shows the visor and the sweatband combined.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
As shown in Figure I and Figure 2, the visor 1 comprises a ferrous metal 3, such as an iron bar, in its front. This ferrous metal 3 should be covered by the material of the visor for not being visible to the naked eye. A circular sweatband 2, where a logo or a trademark can be embroidered, allows fitting to a range of head sizes when the visor 1 is worn alone.
The Figure 3 and the Figure 4 show that the skullcap 4 comprises magnetic elements 6, such as several magnets, attached and arranged on a portion of the circular sweatband 5. These magnetic elements 6 are arranged on the side of the sweatband 5 in contact with the wearer's forehead. The sweatband 5, where a logo or a trademark can be embroidered, allows fitting to a range of head sizes when the skullcap 4 is As shown in Figure 5, the baseball cap is obtained by assembling the visor I and the skullcap 4 via the ferrous material 3 and the magnetic element 6, which are not visible by the public.
On the head of the wearer, people can see the logos or trademarks embroidered on the sweatband 5 and sweatband 2, but especially on the sweatband 5 because it covers entirely the visor 1 and so, is the most visible.
