Abstract

In the method for manufacturing printing paper the base paper of the printing paper contains mechanical pulp and/or recycled fibre. The method also comprises the surface sizing and calendering of the base paper. In the method the base paper is calendered before surface sizing in a calender that comprises at least one nip that is formed between a hard-faced roll and a soft counter surface. The invention also relates to printing paper manufactured by means of the method.
