Abstract

A bubble lens magnifier that attaches to a mobile phone 3 over the screen 2 to magnify numbers, text or pictures. The bubble lens magnifier is optically clear and very flexible so that it may collapse to enable a phone flip cover 4 to close unrestricted onto the mobile phone 3. To prevent air being trapped between the bubble lens magnifier and the screen 2 that would prohibit closure of the flip cover 4, air holes 5 allow the release of air. For a mobile phone 3 with no flip cover 4, the bubble lens magnifier is flexible enough to withstand general usage, such as when the mobile phone 3 is kept in a pocket, handbag, briefcase or any other storage facility. A bubble lens magnifier may be replaced at will, such as when damaged, as adhesion is created by an integral self adhesive strip 1 on the bubble lens magnifier bordering the mobile phone screen 2.

Description

239651 1
A disposable bubble lens magnifier for mobile phones, that attaches to a mobile phone, that is placed over the display screen to achieve a readable screen for the partially sighted.
The present invention relates to a disposable bubble lens magnifier for mobile phones, that attaches to a mobile phone, that is placed over the display screen, and is for use with all types of mobile phones.
It is well known that magnifying lenses in spectacles correct short vision, long vision in adults and children, that need eyesight correction, or where eyesight is failing.
It is also well known that magnifying lenses increases the size of numbers, printed text and pictures for those adults and children that have eyesight deficiencies. However, it is not known that to combine a bubble lens magnifier and a mobile phone, numbers, printed text and pictures can be seen by partially sighted people without using spectacles.
The bubble lens which is attached to the mobile phone replaces the need for adults or children to wear spectacles when operating a mobile phone as the screens that display the phones information such as telephone numbers are so small that they cannot be seen by adults and children without spectacle magnification.
It is the object of the present invention to provide such a system and to provide a combination of the system to all makes and all types of mobile phones. According to the first aspect of the present invention there is provided a disposal bubble lens, named as such as the lens bubbles out in a bubble shape when unrestricted by a flip over phone door or by any kind of restrictive storage, from the surface of a mobile phone to which it is attached to.
The bubble lens is attached to the phone by an integral adhesive strip, clipping action or elasticated band, and if the lens should become damaged in anyway, it can be replaced by removing the damaged lens and replacing a completely new Bubble Lens to the phone quickly and easily.
Preferably this bubble lens can give the mobile phone user the ability to use there mobile phone without relaying on when and where they wear his or her spectacles Advantageously the freedom of use for their mobile phone is achieved by the bubble lens being attached to the phone, and not a necessary detached accessory such as ( spectacles) or a magnifying lens being on hand.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be more particularly described by way of example and reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of a bubble Lens magnifier for mobile phones.
The term Bubble Lens refers to the shape of the lens when protruding from the mobile phone.
The description given to a bubble Lens that magnifies numbers text and pictures
refers to the screen display on the mobile phone.
The term optically clear end flexible is a description given to the material provided
that allows free movement of the bubble lens when attached to the mobile phone. The term attached to the mobile phone refers to a method of attaching and removing the bubble lens from the mobile phone.
The bubble lens has an integral self adhesive strip which borders the mobile phones screen.
The term a mobile phone, is intended to include all provided phones that are used where the user is available to receive phone calls wherever the user may be of the present invention FIGURE 1 shows the relationship of the devices Bubble lens magnifier with integral adhesive strip (1) is attached to the mobile phone (3) the bubble lens is placed over the mobile phone screen (2) so that the lens bubble is centrally positioned over the mobile phone screen (2), the lens is optically clear and flexible.
The bubble lens magnifier (1) being flexible can collapse flat but will not with air resistance in the void between the mobile phone screen (2) and the bubble lens (1).To release the air resistance, air holes (5) allow the air to escape enabling the phone flip over door (4) to close down onto the mobile phone (3), this also applies for mobile phone (3) kept in a pocket, handbag briefcase or any storage facility, with a bubble lens attached.

Claims (7)

1. A bubble lens magnifier that is attached to a mobile phone.
2. A system as claimed in 1 being a plastic optically clear flexible bubble lens.
3. A system as claimed in 1 or claim 2 that is a magnifier for the screen of the mobile phone which is disposable and that can be replaced easily if damaged.
4. A system as claimed in any one of the proceeding claims that collapses flat and returns to it's shape when unrestricted by a storage facility, or flip over door tiffed on some mobile phones.
5. A bubble lens magnifier as described herein with references to the accompanying drawings and description.
6. A bubble lens which is attached to the mobile phone which provides a choice for adults or children to wear spectacles when operating a mobile phone by magnifying the display screen, that displays information such as telephone numbers, text, or pictures which can be so small that they cannot be seen by adults and children without magnification.
7. An essential device to enable flexibility for mobile users that are reliant on using spectacles for every day functionality.
