Description
239606 1
A device for fastening corrugated pipes provided with external shielding The invention relates to a device for fastening corrugated 5 pipes provided with external shielding (i.e. shielding encircling corrugated pipes).
A device for fastening electric lines, which comprise shielding for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), is known 10 from DE 197 15 070 Al). The device comprises a housing member and a contact switching device, the contact switching device being disposed inside the housing member and it being possible to produce an electrical connection between the shielding and the housing member by the contact 15 switching device. The shielding is fixed, in particular jammed, in a positive and/or non-positive manner between the contact switching device and the housing member.
DE 196 11 717 Al discloses a connection element for 20 shielded conductors and cables, where electric conductors are surrounded by an electrically conductive sheath, shielded against electromagnetic disturbances and form a cable. The cable is introduced into the connection element, the electrically conductive sheath is connected to the 25 connection element and the connection element is provided with a passage for the cable and is connected via a core part having a flange connected to a housing. The core part is made from electrically conductive material, the electrically conductive material being passed through the 30 passage of the connection element and of the entire core part. A collar is disposed around the passage at the inner
end of the core part directed into the interior of the housing, it being possible to shift the end of the electrically conductive sheath via this collar. A ring nut is screwed onto the inner end of the core part and at this 5 ring nut opposite the collar a clamping face for the electrically conductive sheath is constructed. A threaded connection is also provided at the outer end of the core part. A retaining element made from synthetic material for a cable or a cable protection tube is connected via this 10 threaded connection to the core part.
DE 199 61 423 Al discloses a device for fastening corrugated pipes provided with external shielding, having a metallic housing comprising at least one inner conical 15 abutting face for housing the corrugated pipe, a fastening part which comprises an aperture for the introduction of a
corrugated pipe and is to be screwed to the housing, at least one sliding sleeve which, when the housing is frictionally screwed with the fastening part between the 20 shielding and the fastening part, produces mechanical contact, runs up against the inner conical abutting face by means of a further abutting face and engages in a wave trough of the corrugated pipe by means of a radial projection, and at least one seal which produces a fluid 25 tight contact by mechanical deformation between the housing and the corrugated pipe when the housing is frictionally screwed to the fastening part. A disadvantage of DE 199 61 423 Al is the bare, unprotected shielding mesh, which also becomes soiled very easily and is difficult to clean.
A further disadvantage of these devices is the complicated mechanical design and the relatively complicated mechanical and electrical connection of pipes and shielding associated with the devices.
From the foregoing, the problem arises of removing, at least to some extent, the above-mentioned disadvantages with the assistance of new devices for fastening corrugated pipes provided with external shielding. The resultant 10 problem is in particular the provision of the above-
mentioned devices which provide a relatively simple structure and simultaneously a simple type of mechanical and electrical connection of hoses and shielding with the device. This problem is solved in accordance with the invention by a device according to Claim 1.
The device according to the invention for fastening 20 corrugated pipes provided with external shielding comprises a metallic housing, comprising at least one internal conical abutting face, for housing the corrugated pipe and also a fastening part which comprises an aperture for the introduction of a corrugated pipe and is to be screwed to
25 the housing. Furthermore, the device comprises at least one sliding sleeve which, when the housing is frictionally screwed to the fastening part between the shielding and the fastening part, produces mechanical contact in that it runs up against the inner conical abutting face by means of a 30 further abutting face and engages in a wave trough of the corrugated pipe by means of a radial projection.
: Apart from the features described above, it is essential to the invention that at least a first seal is provided, which produces fluidtight contact by mechanical deformation 5 between the fastening part and a fluid-tight casing applied over the external shielding when the housing is frictionally screwed to the fastening part, and it can be configured in particular in the form of an O ring or bulb sealing ring.
However, with this relatively simple embodiment from the constructional point of view, a reliable, liquid-repellent sealing of the corrugated pipe and of the external shielding is provided by screwing the fastening part 15 frictionally onto the housing.
It is advantageous if the device comprises at least a second seal which produces fluid-tight contact by mechanical deformation between the housing and the 20 corrugated pipe when the housing is frictionally screwed to the fastening part so as to make a seal redundant.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the fastening element and/or the sliding sleeve is made from metal, since in this 25 manner a simple and secure mechanical and electrical connection is achieved between the metallic housing of the device and the shielding - which in this case is metallic -
by frictionally screwing the housing to the fastening part, for example a screw nut. The electrical connection is 30 provided by three possible methods:
1. Shielding (metallic) - fastening element (metallic; sliding sleeve nonmetallic) - housing (metallic); 2. Shielding (metallic) - sliding sleeve (metallic; 5 fastening element non-metallic) - housing (metallic) or 3. shielding (metallic) - fastening element and sliding sleeve (both metallic) - housing (metallic). Furthermore, it is advantageous if, in the screwed state between the first seal and an abutting face of the fastening part, the shielding is fixed in such a manner that the shielding touches an inner shoulder of the 15 fastening part, in particular when the shielding comprises a bead in the region of the inner shoulder, since safe contacting is guaranteed in this manner. If the shielding is made from a metallic yarn mesh/braided fabric, this advantageously comprises spliced-apart threads in the 20 region of the inner shoulder to provide safe contacting.
The shielding may be made from a copper, steel or special steel mesh, but also from non-metallic materials.
25 The device according to the invention can be made from different materials and material compositions, for example of polyethylene, polyamide etc., with the housing as a rule being metallic or at least having metallic regions for the electrical connection with corresponding metallic 30 shielding, for example metal-coated plastic portions.
Furthermore, the device may be constructed in different
forms, in particular with respect to the housing, for example in the form of elbows, straight parts, with or without flanges etc., in order to comply with the specific assembly demands.
An exemplified embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to a drawing.
In the drawing: Figure 1 shows a cross section of an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
The device for fastening corrugated pipes 3 provided with 15 external shielding 2 comprises the following features: A metallic housing 5, comprising at least one inner conical abutting face 4, for housing the corrugated pipe 3, a fastening part 7 which comprises an aperture 6 for the 20 introduction of the corrugated pipe 3 and is to be screwed
to the housing 5, a sliding sleeve 8 which produces mechanical contact between the shielding 2 and the fastening part 7 when the housing 5 is frictionally screwed to the fastening part 7, 25 in that it runs against the inner conical abutting face 4 by means of a further abutting face 8a and engages in a wave trough of the corrugated pipe 3 by means of a radial projection 8b, and a seal 11 which produces fluid-tight contact by 30 mechanical deformation between fastening part 7 and a fluid-tight casing 1 applied over the outer shielding when
the housing 5 is frictionally screwed to the fastening part 7. Furthermore, the device comprises a second seal 9, which 5 produces fluidtight contact by mechanical deformation between housing 5 and corrugated pipe 3 when the housing 5 is frictionally screwed to the fastening part 7, with the shielding 2 being fixed in the screwed state between the first seal 11 and an abutting face 8c of the fastening part 10 7 in such a manner that the shielding 2 touches an inner shoulder 7a of the fastening part 7.
Upon frictional screwing, an inner shoulder 7b runs against an abutting face 8c of the sliding sleeve 8 and squeezes the seal 11 in such a manner it this seals the fluid-tight casing 1 and also the outer shielding 2 in fluid-tight manner, whereby, furthermore, mechanical contact with the fastening part 7 is produced by the inner shoulder 7a running up against a bead 2a of the outer shielding 2.
At the side opposite the aperture 6, the housing 5 comprises a projection 10 provided with an external thread for fastening to machines, for example.
