Abstract

A self loading round bale trailer of the type having a pick up arm A along which the bale rolls onto the trailer is provided with a clamp B along the rolling part of the pick up arm which can clamp a round bale so that the bale can be stacked two high on the trailer. Preferably, the other side of the trailer is provided with a counter-weight (C, Fig 2) in the form of a hydraulic skid to counteract the weight of the round bales.

THE DESCRIPTION - KEY FACTS
The invention relates to a mechanical handling system of round bales (of any materials) in a farming environment. The Elf-loading bale system eliminates the need for the use of two vehicles being involved in the process of loading and transportation of the bales.
At present there is a requirement for an agricultural handling vehicle and a tractor drawn trailer to be involved in the process. The operation is both time consuming and labour intensive with regards to the operation being carried out.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the need for two vehicles and reduce the level of manpower required.
Accordingly the invention is designed to work in a field independent of other
vehicles and using only one operative. The invention has the capacity to lift and load bales safely onto a trailer, the number of which is only governed by the length of trailer being used.
The invention consists of a trailer fitecd with a lifting arm (see fig 1 A) and support cradle mounted at the front side. There is a hydraulic skid mounted on the side of the trailer, preventing the trailer from tipping sideways when the trailer is lifting heavy material (see fig 2 C). The cradle is designed to collect the bale into the lifting position parallel to the bed of the trailer. The arm then rises to a position whereby the bale rolls along the length of the arm and onto the bed of the trailer. The process is then repeated for the second bale, on the lifting of the third bale an arm is operated to clamp the bale in a position (see fig t B) to allow lifting to a sufficient height to allow the third bale to be placed on top of the fist two bales.
Having completed this process the front of the trailer then pushes the bales back towards the rear of the trailer (see fig 2 D). Allowing sufficient room to repeat process.

l Claims
1. This mechanical mechanism helps speed up the process and reduce the time consuming task that many industries face, this mechanism Self-loads itself, reducing time and cost.
2. Heavy round objects are collected in an area ready for lifting, Claim 1 is the mechanism in which the object is held firmly until Claim 2 has righted itself to the correct position.
3. Claim 2 is a mechanism in which it uprights itself from the ground level for the round object to self-load.
4. In order for Claim 2 to right itself Claim 3 are two supports to stop the carriage from tipping
5. Once the heavy round object has achieved the load from Claim 2, Claim 4 is a mechanism that pushes objects to the rear of the camage.
