Abstract
A putter is provided with an insert between the shaft and the clubhead to absorb some of the initial shock when a ball is struck; preferably the respective ends of the insert are pushed into hollow sections of shaft and hosel and fixed using a strong adhesive.
Description
The concept of the insert is to create a better feel when putting. The
insert should allow the initial shock, when striking the putt, to be absorbed and distributed along the shaft of the putter, thus providing a more pleasurable and softer stroke.
The use of reliable and common materials in golf equipment manufacture, such as hickory wood and cast plastics, enables the insert to remain strong and effective for the purpose of the design.
To fix the insert, the tapered ends are simply pushed into both the shaft and club head and held using a strong adhesive glue, i.e., araldite.
The insert meets the requirements within the R&A rules of golf to prove it eligible for golfing use.

1. The design and principle of an insert which is fixed to the shaft and the putter head and is used to absorb some of the initial shock when striking the ball to give the golfer a more 'enjoyable feel' and performance to the shot
