Abstract

An alarm clock has a microphone 9 which can record a voice message for playback the following day. The voice recorder may be digital, and the messages may be saved or deleted. The clock may have a snooze facility and an LED display.

Description

The Alarm Clock Reminder This invention relates to a combination of two
known inventions a every day alarm clock with a digital dicta-phone, designed to be freely accessible in a semi-static location probably by the bedside.
I am sure at some point while almost falling off to sleep we have all suddenly remembered something that has to happen the following day. For example: putting the bins out. Unfortunately after a good nights sleep we wake up having completely forgotten about the bins or whatever we needed reminding about. So previously in an attempt to stop this from happening, most keep a pen and paper in the bedside draw. However this process of waking up, turning on the light and writing a short note to oneself disturbs not only your sleep but also your partners. Hence a solution is required that can happen without the need of lights and the opening of ones eyes.
With the "Clock Reminder" you can do exactly that by simply reaching over, pressing a button, speaking and falling back off to sleep, knowing that come the morning it will remind you.
Functional Description
The device operates as any normal clock with alarm setting facility would operate, with one very important attribute: the digital voice recorder. To leave a message simply press the large record (fig:2) button and speak. Once a message has been left an indicating LED will illuminate (fig:1). The following morning a reminder beeper is triggered by the alarm going off (dual double bleep) then every 10 minutes the unit will continue to repeat bleep indicating message. This will continue until mute or play button is pressed (fig:1). If muted the 10 min audible reminder is silenced until the alarm goes off again. Messages are played by pressing the play button (fig:2) and played in reverse order (last recorded first played). Messages are saved by not deleting after or during playing of message. The message is defined by the length of time the record / snooze button (fig:2) is pressed and available memory. Messages can only be deleted, during playback of message or within 1 second of the end of message by pressing the delete button twice within a 1 second period. The LED will remain lit only while a new message has been left and not to indicate old saved messages.

12/24 Hour, AM/PM indicator, switchable alarm tone level.
Digital Recorder section: Large "Record" push button (easy to press while half asleep).
Indicator that a message has been left.
Play and Delete message facility.
Memory for at least 5 messages.
Microphone and Speaker.
Mute button.

Claims (1)

  1. Claim The "Clock Reminder" combines two available technologies that of an
    Alarm Clock and Digital Dicta Phone / Message Facility in one very useful package.
    It is also designed to be semi-static probably positioned by the bedside, hence easier to access while half asleep.
