Abstract

A lampshade comprises an outer wall 1 and an inner wall 2 with a gap 3 for the insertion of interchangeable paper or other light transmitting decorative material. The shade rests on a base 4 which bears the lampholder and which may have ventilation slots 5.

Description

CUSTOMISABLE LIGHT SHADE WITH BASE
The invention relates to a light shade and base of the type that includes a customizable decorative shade and a base which may be put anywhere convenient.
The problem with most light shades is that either the shade cannot be changed or if it can be changed a specially manufactured shade must be bought.
This invention allows the decorative part of the shade to be easily replaced without the need to purchase a specially manufactured fitting.
This invention provides a customizable light shade with base with a double walled shade that allows the insertion of a sheet of paper or other light transmitting material so that this then forms the decorative element of the shade.
The double walled shade would prefferably be of clear or light transmitting material and the base would be in a form suitable for adaptation to a standard type light.
A prefered embodiment of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings is as follows: SHEET 1 FIGURE 1.1 shows a view of the double walled light shade on its base.
SHEET 1 FIGURE 1.2 shows and additional stand with stand base to allow the elevation of the double walled light shade.
SHEET 2 FIGURE 2.1 is a plan view of the light shade base SHEET 2 FIGURE 2.2 is a section view of the light shade base from the side SHEET 3 FIGURE 3.1 is a plan view of of the light shade SHEET 3 FIGURE 3.2 is a section of the light shade from the side As shown in fig. 1.1 the customizable decorative shade and base consists of an outer tube 1 and an inner tube 2 forming the customizable shade. In between these tubes a gap 3 is left to allow the insertion of a sheet of paper or other suitable light transmitting material, sitting on a base 4 with optional ventilation holes 5.
As shown in fig. 1.2 the customizable decorative shade and base has an optional stand 6 and stand base 7 that allows the height of the decorative shade to be raised.
As shown in fig. 2.1 and 2.2 the base 4 is constructed to allow the outer tube 1 and inner tube 2 making up the customizable shade to sit on it without the requirement for further restraint.
The base 4 has ventilation holes 5 if required.
As indicated in figures 3.1 and 3.2 the outer tube 1 and the inner tube 2 have a gap 3 to allow the insertion of paper or other light transmitting material so that this then forms the decorative part of the shade.

Claims (5)
