Abstract

The invention comprises a vertically adjustable table comprising a threaded leg 1, a base unit with a submerged cylinder 2, a platform 4 for fixing to the ground, nuts 3 and a tabletop 6. Vertical adjustment of the table may be made by rotating the tabletop resulting in movement of the threaded leg through the nuts and the base unit may be provided with a stopping bolt 5 to fix the table at the desired height.

Description

VERTICALLY ADJUSTABLE TABLE
The invention relates to a table with vertically adjustable threaded leg moving through nuts fixed in a base unit. The table can be installed either outdoors with the base partly submerged into the hole in the ground. or indoors were it can be fixed below flour surface.
Background:
Various uses of tables require different height. In particular, lower tables can easily be adjusted for needs of children of various ages, and can be set for their mutual convenience with adults. Limited space, however making it important to allow various heights to be achieved by the same table. Possibility of use by children also require the mechanism to be robust, simple and easy to use.
Summary of the invention:
The proposed device consists of a threaded rod (preferably metal, but possibly other material such as wood or plastic) fixed in a base unit. Base unit consist of a submerged cylinder with the platform fixed on it to fix the position on the ground or flour. There are two nuts fixed inside the cylinder allowing rotation and vertical movement of at the threaded rod while keeping it in stable vertical position. Table top is fixed at the end of the rod. On the cylinder above the platform there is also a fixing bolt to fix the rod in required position. For out-dour use flexible ducting may be used to cover the threaded rod.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows the front cut-away view of the table for the outdoor use. FIGURE 2 shows the front cut-away view of the table for the indoor use. The table illustrated on Figure 1 has: - threaded leg 1 - The base unit consisting of:
- Submerged cylinder 2 - Nuts3 - Platform for fixing on the ground level 4 - Stopping bolt 5 - liable top 6 - Flexible ducting 7 Vertical adjustment is made by rotation of the table top 6. resulting in the movement of the rod through the nuts over the base. Once desired position is achieved, it can be fixed with the bolt 5. Cylinder 2 shall be submerged in a pre-set hole in the ground that results in the platform being fixed on the ground level.
Figure 2 shows the same device for in-dour use. This is achieved by changing the platform 4 to flat platform 9 that can be placed on a flour 10, and removal of ducting 7.

CLAIMS I claim:
1. A vertically adjustable table comprising: - A threaded leg - A base unit with the submerged cylinder, platform and inside nuts - A tabletop.
2. The table in claim I in which the base unit is equipped with a stopping bolt.
3. The table in claim I in which the threaded leg is covered by a ducting.
