Abstract

A touch pad assembly (202) for use in an electronic article (190), the assembly comprising a touch pad (202), a coupler for mechanically coupling the touch pad (202) to casing (198) of the electronic article and a transducer (108) which is mounted by coupling means (66) on the coupler or the touch pad to drive the casing as an acoustic radiator. An electronic article incorporating the same. An electronic article (190) comprising a body in or on which a bending wave loudspeaker is mounted, the loudspeaker comprising a bending wave acoustic radiator (204) and an electromechanical force transducer (108) mounted to the radiator (204) to vibrate the radiator to produce an acoustic output characterised in that the transducer (108) has an intended operative frequency range and comprises a resonant element having a frequency distribution of modes in the operative frequency range and coupling means (66) for mounting the transducer (108) to the radiator.
