Abstract

A method of and apparatus for applying a leaflet 26 to a succession of containers 10 such as packets for medical tablets. A succession of pre-prepared labels 20 carried by a backing sheet 21 are fed to a stripping beak 19 whereat the labels 20 are stripped one at a time from the backing sheet 21. Each stripped label 20 is advanced past a leaflet feeder 25 with the adhesive side of the label 20 facing the feeder and a leaflet 26 is moved to engage and adhere to the label. A leading portion 24 of the label is then presented to an advancing container 10 to be picked up by the container and then the remainder of the label 20 is pressed down on to the container so as to trap the leaflet 26 between the label 20 and the container 10. <IMAGE>
