Abstract
A transparet or translucent roof and window assembly for a vehicle is described. The roof may comprise a single solid sheet of material or may comprise two or more layers of material preferably having honeycomb supports between the layers. The roof may comprise one or more sunroofs which may open in any conventional manner. Roll bars may be provided. One or more removable sunshade may be provided on a roller which may be extended to shade the interior of a vehicle having the roof and window assembly. The sunroofs and sunshades may be activated manually, electronically or by solar activation means. A wind deflector may be provided around one or more of the sun roofs and may have drainage holes to allow water to drain off the sunroof. The roof may have heating elements over its area. Side windows of the vehicle may have window wipers. The roof may be able to support a roof rack which may also be transparent or translucent. Lights, which may be L.E.D.s may be provided over the surface of the vehicle. The colour of the vehicle may be varied. The roof may fold away.

Specification;
Title;ANI1VTEGRA TED MULTIFUNCTIONAL TRANSPARENT,ANDIOR TINTED TRANSLUCENT ROOF AND WINDOWS ADAPTS TION FOR A ROAD YEHIcLE AND THE LIKE.
Field of the invention.
The present invention relates primarily to road vehicles as an example only, and to focus on the inventions functions. It shall be understood however that the scope of the specifications
may also enclude any suitable building constructions where appropriate.
Background of the invention.
Sunshine roofs commonly known as sunroofs are well know products for vehicles and motor vehicles, produced in a variety of sizes from small, to mega-sunroofs. However passengers' safety can be seriously compromised in some design cases. For example in accidents were the vehicle rolls over, the roof weekend by the sunroof aperture is likely to be crushed on impact.
The other issue to be overcome, is that a large percentage of motor vehicle purchasers are highly desirous of convertibles, but due to our rainy, chilly to freezing, noisy, and often air polluted northern European environments, and weather systems, renders the purchase of convertible motors vehicles seriously impracticable for the ordinary consumer particularly for everyday working use, and multi functional tasks.
Summary of the invention.
According to the present invention a substantially solid multi functional transparent, translucent, or tinted translucent roof adaptations of which may significantly reduce solar glare in a road vehicle is conceived, and designed principally for northern European types of climatic conditions, the multi functional adaptations shall be commonly known as a "The Artin skyroof", and/or "The Artin roadvehicle", of which can provide the most extensive panoramic views than any other comparable road vehicle. The multi functional roof having size, shape, and configuration to completely extend, and may extend beyond any vehicle roof area as it may harmoniously integrate the front, rear and side windscreens and windows, including the side columns, pillars, frames, and body of a vehicle. Such an integrated roof adaptation having a substantial single, doubled, or multi layered glazed roof member made of any suitable materials e.g., polycarbonates, and/or safety glass. Each layer may have a sealed air gap to trap a volume of air which increases thermal insulation. The "Artin skyroof" or "The Artin roadvehicle" adaptations shall also include one or more sunroofs of any suitable "tilt up only", "tilt and/or windback," or "tilt and slide back" designs, of which may include a slidable sunshade panel. Such added sunroof designs shall be manufactured with all their mechanisms, and assemblies specifically made of any suitable transparent and\or tinted translucent material components, to allow an overall greater aesthetically pleasing and harmonious appearance. To provide sufficient strength, and reassurance of the overall roof adaptations structures for passenger safety in case of a serious roll over accident, conspicuous, or inconspicuous, elegant, but effective roll bars canbe traversally integrated over and\or into the roof, and/or structure of any suitable materials, or adapted to have transparent and/or translucent, tinted translucent, honeycombed structural support means configured into the layers(s) of the roof and/or body of the vehicle. The elegant, transparent, translucent, and/or tinted translucent columns, pillars, and/or frames of the front, and rear windscreens, roof, and windows support structures of any suitable materials, or combinations, e.g. plastics, and steel, or electro plastics, of which may also provide various interior\exterior illuminations of which
can be manufactured releasable were suitable over the entire vehicle, and may also assist in absorbing, and reducing the intensity of a roll over accident. The intire integrated adaptations can be fastened together permanently, detachably, or reattachably by any suitable means. It shall be realised that the skyroof maybe configured "pillarless" chiefly for coupe's, and other 1 ^ -qll1 trqncnqrent or translucent illuminative arch support
only are the side windows demisted or defrosted, they are also electronically wiped clean of rain water when so desired. Such a vehicle roof design may also benefit from an air conditioning, climatic control units, which is becoming a standard fixture in motor vehicles.
Another feature of the integrated multi functional roof adaptations is that they can have an electronic, or manual rear windscreen of which can be operated in an upward, down wards motion, by switch and any suitable motor control unit, or any suitable manual means. The switch can be mounted anywhere within the vehicle, preferably on the rear doors or the dashboard. The rear screen can be made of any suitable transparent, or tinted translucent materials, or of an extendablc roller materials rolled up on a roller, and operated by electronic motor and control, unit or by manual means. The roller screen can be housed in a waterproofed chanrrelled frame assembly and, the screen contained within it may be detachable, or replaceable if damaged. It shall be obvious to the reader that the various design configurations of the adaptations of this inventions scope, that some integrated roofs will be more robust than others, therefore some adaptations shall have roof racks capability and/or, tracks for the inclusion of a roof rack provided. Such integrated transparent and/or translucent roof adaptations may advantageously have one or more lightening arrangements, of which can also be included in the roofs arches, and/or upper door(s) frames etc. of which shall be known as "rainbow arches", which provides added exterior side-lighting as a safety feature, and maybe operated by switch in conjunction with the vehicles sidelights, or independently located on the dashboard. The lighting arrangement can be provided by any suitable means, for example, via tube lighting, of which may extended, and L.E.D lighting tailored, and fashioned throughout the entire integrated roof and/or body area of a vehicle. Although the lighting of the adaptation can be located in combination with the sidelights of a vehicle as a safety feature, the lighting of the adaptations maybe provided to advertise the multiple security warning feature of the vehicle as a theft deterrent. Alternatively provided on a vehicle purely as an aesthetic attraction e.g. , whereby the colour of the roof and/or vehicle body can be varied for subtle night illumination(s), of which may illuminate various "advertising logos, and/or trade marks". Antenna and any other exterior and/or interior utilities can be suitably installed or incorporated onto the adaptations, thus the adaptations are not only extremely sporty in appearance, but also very practical. The main value and benefits of the integrated multi functional "Artin skyroof" and\or The Artin vehicle bodies adaptive technologies are to provide the driver and passengers with all the advantages of a convertible vehicle, providing almost 20\20 uninterrupted vision although having all the advantages of being substantially protected and insulated from exterior elements i.e., the cold. Rain, noise, grime, and air pollution's, Further more the added exterior illuminations provided on the vehicle bodies, acts as a significant safety feature, at dusk, night, or in rainy foggy weather conditions or, assist in providing a security intruder deterrent, or purely for aesthetic appearances. Such innovative high specification, highly desirable, and
futuristic appearances of adaptive vehicle technologies should set the style of motor vehicles for the 21 5t century over the world for consumer enjoyment.
The above examples and descriptions are by way of example only, as it will be obvious to
one skilled in the art that wider implications, equivalents, and substitutions are possible therefore the definition and scope shall be set forth in the following claims.
