Abstract

A hanger writing implement 100 is collapsible from a first configuration as a garment hanger to a second configuration as a writing implement, and comprises suspension means such as a hook 104. The implement 100 typically comprises two garment support arms 101,102 connected at a pivot 105, where a writing end of a writing implement 106 is located. In the second configuration, the hook 104 may be moved to a position 107 aligned with an arm 101, which may overlap part 200 of the other arm 102. The implement 100 can then function as a pencil or a pen, with a spring 202 and locking portion 201. The implement may alternatively comprise a main body (501, see fig 5) which acts as a writing implement in which extendible supports (502, see fig 6) or telescopic projections may be provided for supporting garments.

-1 COLLAPSIBLE HANGER

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a collapsible hanger, and in particular, 5 although not exclusively, to a collapsible hanger being configured with a writing implement. Backoround to the Invention Typically, persons in particular professional persons are required to travel to 10 different locations for meetings, presentations and the like, such traveling commonly involving the use of a vehicle. When travelling, using a vehicle, most professional people tend not to wear delicate items of clothing, such as suit jackets, opting instead to suspend such clothing from a hanger.

15 To avoid continued transporting of bulky hangers, it is know to provide collapsible hangers for convenience and to minimize baggage problems.

Collapsible hangers of this type are disclosed in US 4,004,721 and US 1, 193,356 which provide readily transportable hangers having a minimum size in a collapsed configuration for storage whilst providing, in a further configuration, a 2 0 secure hanger from which to suspend a garment such as a suit jacket.

Such collapsible hangers, or commonly termed coat hangers, being beneficial to a traveler, for both business and pleasure purposes, create additional problems as a result of their reduced storage size. For example, an individual immediately prior to embarking on business travel is required to remember many items for use or potential use at the event. It is therefore common for a collapsible coat hanger, and indeed a conventional coat hanger, to be overlooked and forgotten by the individual who, commonly under time pressures cannot afford to search for the hanger and is left with no option but to 3 0 fold or drape the garment of clothing against a seat or the like generating creases in the garment which in turn ultimately deprives the individual of a smart P0855 spec

-2 appearance, this is particularly detrimental when the individual is travelling for business purposes.

As an unrelated problem to that associated with an individual forgetting a 5 hanger when travelling, but being related to business meetings, excursions and the like, is that associated with establishing a relationship between two meeting individuals or parties. Commonly, at least one party or individual attending the meeting has to initiate some initial conversation which either requires forethought or an element of spontaneous inspiration.

Accordingly, the inventors have released a requirement for a collapsible hanger which avoids being lost or overlooked when embarking on business or personal travel in addition to assisting in the initial stages of a meeting between individuals or parties.

Summarv of the Invention The inventors, on realising the disadvantages associated with prior art

collapsible hangers provide a collapsible hanger which is also configured for use as a writing implement. An individual, at a meeting, will undoubtedly require and go remember a writing implement, being a pen or pencil, and accordingly the inventors have realised that providing a writing implement, being a pen or pencil by way of example only, which is configured for use as hanger, an individual is in turn provided with a means upon which to hang clothes which may not have been available if the individual forgot to obtain a hanger immediately prior to travelling.

2 5 Accordingly a collapsible hanger is provided which according to a first configuration may be extended or unfolded to form a robust hanger suitable for supporting at least one garment of clothing, such as a suit jacket or the like. And according to a second configuration the hanger is configured for use as a writing implement. Through specific implementations of the present invention the coat hanger may be collapsed or folded into an elongate pen like shape whereby an individual may use the collapsible hanger as a writing implement at a meeting or the like.

-3 An individual using the collapsible coat hanger as a writing implement according to its second configuration, will undoubtedly attract attention from other members of the meeting, serving to provide a starting point for conversation.

5 Therefore, awkwardness and unease at initial stages of a meeting are avoided.

Accordingly, the inventors provide a collapsible hanger writing implement which when collapsed to form a writing implement is more easily remembered by an individual over prior art coat hangers in addition to aiding relationships

10 between individuals or parties at initial stages of a meeting.

According to a specific implementation of the present invention the collapsible hanger may comprise at least one collapsible arm being configured to extend from the second configuration to the first configuration as means to 15 support at least one garment and to be collapsed for use as a writing implement.

Additionally the means to support may comprise a first arm being pivotally connected to a second arm such that in the first configuration the first arm substantially extends away from the second arm, the first arm and the second arm being configured to support at least one garment and in the second 2 0 configuration the first arm and the second arm are substantially aligned.

According to further specific implementations of the present invention, the collapsible hanger may comprise a plurality of telescopic projections which in turn may be manipulated by a user to form both a hanger and to collapse to a pen like 25 shape for use as a writing implement. For example, the telescopic projections may be extended in the first configuration, being configured to support at least one garment and, not extended in the second configuration when the hanger is used as a writing implement 30 According to a specific implementations of the present invention the writing implement may be attached to, or positioned within a portion of the collapsible hanger (such a portion being at least one arm for example) such that a writing end of the writing implement may be exposed at one end of the elongate pen like

-4 shape to allow a user to write or draw. The writing end may be permanently exposed at one end or may be retractable through the use of known technology associated with propelling or spring loaded pens and pencils.

5 According to a specific implementation of the present invention a collapsible hanger writing implement is provided which when operable in a first configuration allows a user to suspend a plurality of garments of clothing upon a plurality of collapsible extensions, such extensions being individual hangers. Each individual hanger forming part of a single main hanger configured as a writing implement.

According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a collapsible hanger writing implement, said hanger writing implement comprising: means to support at least one garment; at least one writing implement; and means to suspend said hanger writing implement from a support; 20 wherein in a first configuration said hanger writing implement is configured to support at least one garment and in a second configuration said hanger writing implement is configured for use as a writing implement, said hanger writing implement being collapsible from said first configuration to said second configuration. According to a second aspect of the present invention there is provided a collapsible hanger writing implement, said hanger writing implement comprising: a first arm being moveably connected to a second arm, said first and said second arm being configured to support at least one garment; a writing implement being attached to one said arm;

-5 means to suspend said hanger writing implement from a support, said means to suspend being moveably attached to at least one said arm; wherein in a first configuration said first arm substantially extends away from 5 said second arm, said hanger writing implement being configured to support at least one garment and in a second configuration said first and said second arm are substantially brought together, said hanger writing implement being configured as a writing implement.

10 According to a third aspect of the present invention there is provided a collapsible hanger writing implement, said hanger writing implement comprising: means to support at least one garment comprising: 15 a main body; and a plurality of collapsible extensions, each of said plurality of collapsible extensions being configured to suspend from said main body according to a first configuration and to collapse for storage within said main body 2 0 according to a second configuration and; a writing implement being attached to said main body; and means to suspend said hanger writing implement from a support, said 2 5 means to suspend being moveably attached to said main body; wherein in a first configuration said plurality of collapsible extensions are suspended from said main body, said hanger writing implement being configured to support said at least one garment, and in a second configuration said plurality 30 of collapsible extensions are stored within said main body, said hanger writing implement being configured for use as a writing implement.

-6 According to a further specific implementation of the present invention the means to support at least one garment comprise at least a first arm and a second arm, the first arm comprising a central body housing a writing implement and the second arm comprising an outer sheath configured for positioning against the 5 central body. According to a first configuration the arms, central body and outer sheath are configured to support at least one garment and in a second configuration the arms are configured to substantially collapse into the central body such that the outer sheath fits against the central body, the hanger writing implement being configured for use as a writing implement.

2 5 Detailed Descriotion of the Best Mode for Carrvino Out the Invention There will now be described by way of example the best mode contemplated by the inventors for carrying out the invention. In the following description numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough

understanding of the present invention. It will be apparent however, to one skilled 3 0 in the art, that the present invention may be practiced without limitation to these specific details. In other instances, well known methods and structures have not been described in detail so as not to unnecessarily obscure the present invention.

Referring to Figure 1 herein there is illustrated a side view of the hanger writing implement according to the specific implementation of the present invention. Hanger 100 comprises means to support at least one garment 101, 102, at least one writing implement 103 and means to suspend the hanger from a 5 support 104 such as a hanger rail, internal car handle, hook etc. According to the specific implementation of the present invention means to support at least one garment comprise a first arm 101 being moveably connected to a second arm 102, such movement being provided, according to the specific 10 implementation of the present invention, via a pivot point being positioned substantially towards a first end 105 of moveably connected arms 101 and 102.

A writing end of writing implement 106 according to the specific implementation of the present invention is positioned at first end 105.

:5 According to a first configuration hanger 100 is configured to support at least one garment, the means to suspend 104 extending away from the means to support 101, 102 as illustrated in Figure 1 herein such that a first part of means to support 101 extends away from a first side of means to suspend and a second part of means to support 102 extends away from a second side of means to 20 suspend, the hanger writing implement being configured to support at least one garment using the first and said second part of means to support.

According to a second configuration, means to support 104 is collapsed and aligned (107) relative to means to support 101, 102, means to suspend 104 being 25 moveably attached to means to support 101, 102 using the suitable pivot point 105. According to the specific implementation of the present invention means to support 101 comprises a retractable cord 108 being configured for extending 30 from first arm 101 to second arm 102 in addition to retracting into arm 101 when not in use. Arm 102 is configured with a means to secure a cord 109 being, for example, a hook such that cord 108 extending from arm 101 and being secured to arm 102 is configured to support a further garment for example, a pair of

-9- trousers or the like. The extracting and retraction of cord 108 may be achieved using known components such as a sprung axle or the like.

Referring to Figure 2 herein there is illustrated a side view of the hanger 5 writing implement being in a collapsed and second configuration according to the specific implementation of the present invention. According to the collapsed second configuration arms 101, 102 are pivoted about point 105 and substantially brought together as illustrated in Figure 2 In such a configuration hanger 100 is configured for use as a writing implement being in an elongate pen like shape. A 10 user is therefore able to grasp the pen between fingers and thumb for example.

In order to provide a sufficiently strong hanger according to the first configuration as illustrated in Figure 1, arms 101, 102 are provided as being sufficiently robust to support a load created by the suspending of at least one 15 garment from the hanger. Obviously, it is desirable for arms 101, 102 to be of a large construction when in the first configuration to support at least one garment, and to be relatively slight or thin in the second configuration so as to achieve an elongate pen like shape. A compromise is achieved according to the specific implementation of the present invention via a portion of the means to support 20 overlapping (200) when collapsed as illustrated in Figure 2. As illustrated in Figure 2, a part of first arm 101 overlaps with the corresponding part of second arm 102 in the second configuration where the hanger is operable as a writing implement. 25 Writing implement 103 is attached to hanger 100 sufficient to be held in place to enable a user to write or draw with the hanger. A suitable attachment being at a first end 201 of writing implement 103. According to the specific implementation of the present invention writing implement 103 is removable positioned within the hanger and in particular means to support 102 whereby a 3 0 writing end 106 is configured to project away from end 105 so as to enable writing or drawing. According to a further specific embodiment, writing implement 103 may be formed integrally within means to support such that the hanger is a disposable hanger following an exhausting of the writing implement, for example

-10 an exhausting of the ink. According to the specific implementation of the present invention hanger 100 is configured with writing implement 103 being removably -I positioned within arm 102 such that using known pen technology such as locking portion 201 and spring 202, the hanger is configured to allow writing end 106 to 5 be retracted into arm 102 according to the first configuration and to extend away from end 105 in the second configuration.

Referring to Figure 3 herein there is illustrated a side view of the hanger writing implement according to a second specific implementation of the present 10 invention. Features and aspects of the hanger writing implement as detailed with reference to Figures 3 to 4 herein, are applicable and may be implemented with the hanger writing implement according to the specific implementation of the present invention as detailed with reference to Figures 1 and 2 herein.

Figure 3 herein illustrates the hanger writing implement comprising a first -

arm 301 and second arm 302, such arms being means to support at least one garment, arms 301, 302 being moveably attached at 305 such that the means to support may extend to form a hanger like shape or collapse to an elongate pen; like shape as illustrated in Figure 3 herein. Writing implement 303 is exposed at 2 o a flat end of collapsed hanger 300 to allow a user to write or draw. Means to suspend 304, according to the hanger adopting the second configuration, is collapsed or folded to be substantially aligned relative to a length of the arms 301, 302. As detailed substantially with reference to Figure 2 herein, a portion of arms 301, 302 overlap to provide a more compact hanger when in the second configuration as illustrated (306). Means 307 are provided to allow a writing end of writing implement 303 to be exposed or retracted and locked in place according to each configuration using known pen or pencil technology.

According to the second specific implementation of the present invention 3 0 arm 301 is provided with arm 308 in addition to arm 302 being provided with arm 309 substantially in a second half of hanger 300. Third and fourth arm 308, 304 being pivotally connected to arm 301, 302 respectively, are configured to extend the length of the means to support so as to allow larger more bulky garments of

-11 clothing to be suspended from the hanger. Arms 308 and 309 are configured to be collapsed and aligned relative to arms 301 and 302 according to the second configuration. 5 Referring to Figure 3a herein there is illustrated a side view of arms 308, 309 being moveably connected to arms 301, 302 according to the second specific implementation of the present invention. Arms 308, 309 are displaced relative to arms 301, 302 using, in particular according to the specific I implementation of the present invention, pivot 310 positioned substantially at a I 10 second end of hanger 300.

Referring to Figure 3b herein there is illustrated a cut away view of the first I end of the hanger writing implement detailing a portion of the writing end of the writing implement according to the second specific implementation of the present 15 invention. Means are provided 307, 311 to allow writing implement 303 to be expelled or retracted into means to support 302. In a case where the writing implement 303 is a pen means 311 comprise, in part, a spring and additional components commonly found in propelling pen or pencil technology. Optionally, means 311, when writing implement 303 is a pen or pencil may comprise a barrel 2 0 adjuster or similar means to propel a writing nib, ink or lead from one end of the substantially elongate pen like hanger.

Referring to Figure 3c herein there is illustrated the first end portion of the hanger writing implement according to the second specific implementation of the 25 present invention. A pivot point 305 is provided substantially towards the first end of each arm 301, 302 so as to allow arms 301, 302 to collapse or extend between the first and second configuration. Pivot 305 is further configured to allow means to suspend 304 to extend away from arms 301, 302 to substantially align along the length of arms 301, 302 according to the second configuration. A writing end 30 312 is configured to retract and emerge from means to suspend 301, 302 alternatively, end 312 may be fixed in an exposed position as detailed with reference to Figure 3c herein.

-12 Referring to Figure 3d herein there is illustrated a side view of a portion of arms 301, 302 in an overlapping configuration. Cut away portions 306 illustrate how a portion of arm 301 overlaps and sits within a slotted or recessed portion of arm 302. Accordingly, arms 301, 302 may be brought together to form the 5 elongate pen like shape.

Referring to Figure 4 herein there is illustrated a side view of the hanger writing implement according to the second specific implementation of the present invention in the extended first configuration. Third arm 308 and fourth arm 309 lo being pivotally mounted on arms 301, 302 respectively, are extended according to the first configuration providing a hanger with an extended length.

According to further specific implementations of the present invention, arm extensions 308, 309 may be slidably positioned against arms 301, 302 or 15 detachable positioned using suitable securing means. Alternatively arms 308, 309 may form telescopic extensions to extend the length of the means to support at least one garment.

Referring to Figure 5 herein there is illustrated a perspective view of a third 20 specific implementation of the present invention. The hanger writing implement 500 comprises means to support at least one garment having a main body 501 and a plurality of collapsible extensions 502. Means to suspend 504 are provided on the main body, such means 504 being configured to suspend hanger 500 from a suitable support.

Main body 501 comprises a writing implement 503 being attached to at least one part of main body 501 such that a writing end 510 of the writing implement is exposed at a first end of main body 501. Using standard technology common to the field of writing implements, means are provided 511, 512 to allow writing

30 implement 503 to be retracted and expelled from main body 501 for use as a hanger or writing implement, respectively. Typically, means 511 comprises, in part, a spring loaded mechanism whilst 512 provides a means for locking the writing implement 503 in a particular configuration, such components being

-13 similar to 201, 202, 307, 311 previously detailed. Means to suspend 504 are movably attached to main body 501 such that means to suspend 504 is usable to suspend hanger 500 from a support. Forming part of means to suspend 504 is a cap 509 configured for removable positioning relative to a second end along of 5 main body 501 so as to substantially conceal this end.

According to the third specific implementations of the present invention main body 501 also comprises a plurality of engaging portions 508 configured to engage with a plurality of collapsible extensions 502. Collapsible extensions 502 10 are configured to be suspend from body 501 according to a first configuration and to collapse for storage within main body 501 according to a second configuration.

In use according to the first configuration, the hanger writing implement is configured to support at least one garment whilst being configured as a writing implement according to the second configuration.

According to the third specific implementations of the present invention each of the plurality of collapsible extensions 502 comprises a central portion 505 being moveably connected to a first and second arm 506. Third and fourth arms 507 are moveably connected to first and second arms 506 so as to provide an 20 extended length of collapsible extension 502. An engager 512 is provided at substantially one end of central portion 505, engager 512 being configured to engage with an engaging portion 508 of main body 501. Following an engaging between 508 and 512 collapsible extension 502 is configured to be suspended from main body 501 whereby a garment may be supported via arms 506, 507.

2s According to the first configuration, hanger writing implement 500 is suspended from a support via means to suspend 504 which extent away from the means to support, in turn, a garment is suspended from hanger writing implement 500 via means to support at least one garment 501, 502.

30 Referring to Figure 6 herein there is illustrated a side view of a collapsible extension 502. Extension 502 is illustrated in a collapsed form whereby first and second arms 506 are collapsed about central portion 505 via suitable means 601, mean 601 being, according to the third specific implementation of the present

-14 invention, pivot points. Third and fourth arms 507 are also collapsed about central portion 505, the collapsing of arms 507 being possible due to means 600, such means being similar to 601. According to the second configuration, each of the collapsible extensions 502 is configured to form a substantially elongate 5 shape for compact storage. According to the first configuration, arms 506 and 507 may by displaced relative to central portion 505 whereby arms 506 and 507 extend away from each other and central portion 505 so as to provide support for at least one garment. Accordingly, third and fourth arm 507 are configured to extend a length of each of the plurality of collapsible extensions 502. Engager 10 512 is positioned substantially at one end of central portion 505 for engaging an engaging portion of the main body as detailed with reference to Figure 5 herein.

According to further specific implementations of the present invention arms 506, 507 comprise movably positioned arms capable of being extended and 15 retracted relative to a central portion similar to 505. A suitable embodiment includes the utilization of telescopic projections as means to support at least one garment. Arms 506, 507 may also be slidably displaceable.

Referring to Figure 7 herein there is illustrated a perspective view of the 20 second end of hanger writing implement according to the third specific implementation of the present invention. A plurality of slots 700, each configured to receive a collapsible extension 502, are provided substantially at the second end of main body 501. According to the second configuration, each collapsible extension 502 may be removably positioned and stored within each slot 700.

25 When extension 502 is collapsed and inserted within slot 700 cap 509 is positioned substantially over the second end to substantially conceal slots 700: and prevent extensions 502 from emerging from their stored position. When each collapsible extension 502 is collapsed and in the stored positioned as. detailed with reference to Figure 7, the hanger writing implement

according to the 30 second configuration is configured as a writing implement being in a substantially elongate pen like shape. i

-15 Referring to Figure 8 herein there is illustrated a perspective view of the hanger writing implement according to the third specific implementation of the present invention. Being positioned at substantially the first end of main body 501 is writing end 510 being exposed when the hanger is configured for use as a 5 writing implement. Writing end 510 extending away from main body 501 is configured to retract to a position substantially within main body 501 using components 511 and 512. According to the third specific implementation of the present invention as detailed with reference to Figures 5 to 9 herein, writing implement 503 is removably positioned within main body 501 however according 10 to further specific implementations, writing implement 503 may be formed integrally within body 501. Writing implement 503 according to the third specific implementation of the present invention may comprise a pen or pencil or similar i like implement. The first end of main body 501 is configured to be easily held between a thumb and finger of a user employing the hanger as a writing 15 implement. In addition, the first end is configured to receive a suitable lid 800, lid 800 being configured to substantially conceal the first end and the writing end 510. Means to suspend 504 being positioned substantially in a second half of main body 501 towards the second end is movably attached to main body 501 via means 801. Accordingly, means to suspend 504 including cap 509 is 2 0 movably positioned relative to main body 501.

Referring to Figure 9 herein there is illustrated a perspective view of the second end of hanger writing implement 500 according to the third specific implementation of the present invention. When in the first configuration, means to suspend 504 extend away from main body 501 such that means to suspend 504 and 509 may be displaceable secured to a support whereby hanger 500 is: configured to be suspended from the support via means to suspend 504.

According to the second configuration, means to suspend 504 and in particular cap 509 is configured to substantially conceal the second end of main body 501 3 0 and in particular slots 700. A displacing of means to suspend 504 between the first and second configuration being possible via means 801.

-16 Referring to Figure 10 herein there is illustrated a perspective view of the hanger writing implement according to a fourth specific implementation of the present invention. The hanger writing implement 1000 comprises a first arm 1001 a second arm 1002 means to suspend 1003, a central body 1004, an outer 5 sheath 1005 and a writing implement 1006.

According to the fourth specific implementation of the present invention arm 1001 is movably connected to arm 1002 a third arm 1007 is also provided being movably connected to arm 1001 in addition to fourth arm 1008 being movably 10 connected to arm 1002. Central body 1004 being movably connected to arms 1001/1007 comprises a recessed portion 1009. Recessed portion 1009 is configured to substantially house arms 1001, 1002, 1007 and 1008 when said hanger writing implement is configured according to a second configuration for I use as a writing implement. Arms 1001, 1002, 1007 and 1008 are movably connected via pivots 1010, 1011 and 1012 such that the arms may be extended or collapsed relative to one another, Figure 10 illustrating the arms being extended according to the first configuration. According to the first configuration i the hanger writing implement is suspended from a support via means to suspend 1003 at least one garment being supported on central body 1004, outer sheath 2 0 1005 and potentially arms 1001 and 1002.

According to the second configuration arms 1001, 1002, 1007 and 1008 are collapsed relative to each other and substantially housed within portion 1009.

Additionally, means to suspend 1003 is also configured for storage within central 2 5 body 1004, a collapsing of means to suspend 1003 being provided by pivot 1012.

Outer sheath 1005 is configured for a snug fit against main body 1004 such that I the writing implement 1000 is configured to be collapsable to an elongate pen like shape. Outer sheath 1005 being configured for an ergonomic fit against central body 1 004.

A collapsible hanger writing implement, said hanger writing implement comprising: 5 means to support at least one garment; at least one writing implement; and means to suspend said hanger writing implement from a support; wherein in a first configuration said hanger writing implement is configured to support at least one garment and in a second configuration said hanger writing implement is configured for use as a writing implement, said hanger writing I implement being collapsible from said first configuration to said second 15 configuration. 2. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 1 wherein said i means to support comprises at least one arm being configured to extend from said second configuration to said first configuration to support said at least one 2 0 garment.

3. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 2 wherein said writing implement is positioned within said at least one arm, a writing end of said writing implement being configured to project away from one end of said at least 2 5 one arm.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in claims 2 or 3 wherein said means to suspend is moveably attached to said means to support; ' 3 0 wherein in said first configuration said means to suspend extend away from I said means to support and in said second configuration said means to suspend are substantially aligned relative to said means to support.

-18 5. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any preceding claim wherein said hanger writing implement is configured to be collapsible to an elongate pen like shape; 5 wherein said hanger writing implement is configured for use by a user as a writing implement.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any preceding claim wherein a first part of said means to support extends away from a first side of 10 said means to suspend and a second part of said means to support extends away from a second side of said means to suspend; wherein said hanger writing implement is configured to support said at least one garment using said first and said second part of said means to support.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any preceding claim wherein said means to support comprises at least one arm comprising a plurality of telescopic projections; 20 wherein said plurality of telescopic projections are extended in said first configuration being configured to support said at least one garment and said telescopic projections are not extended in said second configuration wherein said hanger writing implement is configured for use as a writing implement.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 6 wherein said means to support comprises a first arm being pivotally connected to a second arm; wherein in said first configuration said first arm substantially extends away 30 from said second arm, said first arm and said second arm being configured to support at least one garment and in said second configuration said first arm and said second arm are substantially aligned.

-19 9. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 8 wherein said at least one writing implement is positioned within one said arm.

10. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any preceding claim 5 wherein said means to suspend is a hook.

A collapsible hanger writing implement, said hanger writing implement comprising: 10 a first arm being moveably connected to a second arm, said first and said second arm being configured to support at least one garment; a writing implement being attached to one said arm; 15 means to suspend said hanger writing implement from a support, said means to suspend being moveably attached to at least one said arm; wherein in a first configuration said first arm substantially extends away from said second arm, said hanger writing implement being configured to support at 20 least one garment and in a second configuration said first and said second arm are substantially brought together, said hanger writing implement being configured as a writing implement.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 11 wherein said 25 first arm is pivotally connected to said second arm at substantially a first end of said first and said second arm; wherein a portion of said first arm overlaps with a portion of said second arm when said first and said second arm are substantially brought together in 3 o said second configuration.

13. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claims 11 or 12 wherein said writing implement is positioned within one said arm, said hanger

-20 writing implement being configured to expose a writing end of said writing R implement at one end of one said arm when said hanger writing implement is in said second configuration.

514. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 13 wherein said hanger writing implement is configured to allow said writing end of said writing implement to be retracted into one said arm.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 11 to 1014 wherein said first arm comprises a retractable cord, said retractable cord being R configured for storage within said first arm and to extend out of said first arm; and said second arm comprises means to secure said retractable cord; 15wherein in said first configuration said retractable cord extends from said e first arm and is secured to said second arm, said retractable cord being configured to support a further said garment.

16. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 11 to 2015 wherein in said first configuration said means to suspend is substantially -

aligned relative to said first and said second arm, and in said second configuration said means to suspend extend away from said first and said second arm. 2 517. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 1 1 to 16 wherein said writing implement is removably positioned within one said arm.

18. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 11 to i 16 wherein said writing implement is formed integrally within one said arm.

22. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 11 to 20 wherein said writing implement is a pencil.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 11 to 22 wherein said first arm comprises a third arm, said third arm being moveably connected to said first arm; and 15 said second arm comprises a fourth arm, said fourth arm being moveably connected to said second arm; wherein said third and said fourth arm are configured to extend a length of said first and said second arm in said second configuration.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 11 wherein said first arm is movably connected to a central body and said second arm is movably connected to an outer sheath; 25 wherein in said first configuration said central body extends away from said outer sheath, said central body and said outer sheath being configured to support at least one garment and in said second configuration said outer sheath fits against said central body, said hanger writing implement being configured as a writing implement.

30 25. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 11 wherein said first arm comprises a third arm, said third arm being removably connected to said first arm and comprising a central body; and

-22 said second arm comprises a fourth arm, said fourth arm being movably connected to said second arm and comprising an outer sheath; wherein in said first configuration said central body extends away from said 5 outer sheath, said central body and said outer sheath being configured to support at least one garment and in said second configuration said outer sheath fits against said central body, said hanger writing implement being configured as a writing implement.

10 26. The hanger writing implement as claimed in claims 24 or 25 wherein said central body comprises a recessed portion, said recess portion being configured to substantially house said first arm and said second arm.

27. The writing implement as claimed in claim 26 wherein said 15 recessed portion is configured to substantially house said means to suspend.

A collapsible hanger writing implement, said hanger writing implement comprising: 2 0 means to support at least one garment comprising: a main body; and a plurality of collapsible extensions, each of said plurality of collapsible 2 5 extensions being configured to suspend from said main body according to a first configuration and to collapse for storage within said main body according to a second configuration and; a writing implement being attached to said main body; and means to suspend said hanger writing implement from a support, said means to suspend being moveably attached to said main body;

-23 wherein in a first configuration said plurality of collapsible extensions are! suspended from said main body, said hanger writing implement being configured to support said at least one garment, and in a second configuration said plurality of collapsible extensions are stored within said main body, said hanger writing s implement being configured for use as a writing implement.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 28 wherein each collapsible extension of said plurality of collapsible extensions comprise: o a central portion being configured to engage said main body; a first and a second arm being moveably connected to said central portion; wherein in said first configuration said central portion is suspended from 15 said main body and said first arm extends away from said second arm, said first arm and said second arm being configured to support said at least one garment; and; in said second configuration said first and said second arm are collapsed 2 o about said central portion, each of said plurality of extensions being stored within said main body, said hanger writing implement being configured for use as a writing implement.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in claim 29 wherein said first arm further comprises a third arm being moveably connected to said first arm; and said second arm further comprises a fourth arm being moveably connected to said second arm; wherein said third and said fourth arm are configured to extend a length of each of said plurality of collapsible extensions.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 28 to 30 further comprising; 3 a plurality of slots configured to receive said plurality of extensions; wherein each of said plurality of collapsible extensions is removably stored within said main body by insertably removing each of said plurality of collapsible extensions into said slots.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 29 to 31 wherein each said central portion of each said plurality of collapsible extensions comprises an engager configured to engage said main body; wherein each of said plurality of collapsible extensions are suspended from 1S said main body using each said engager.

33. The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 28 to 32 wherein said writing implement is positioned within said main body.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 28 to! 33 wherein said means to suspend is positioned in a second half of said main I body; wherein in said first configuration said means to suspend extend away from 2s said main body and in a second configuration said means to suspend are 3 configured to substantially conceal a second end of said main body.

The hanger writing implement as claimed in any one of claims 28 to 34 wherein a writing end of said writing implement is positioned at a first end of said main body, said hanger writing implement being configured to retract said 3 o writing end into said main body and to expose said writing end at said first end of said main body.
