Abstract

A device for removing the vocal component of a audio recording receives the input from an audio device and contains means for removing the vocal component of the input and delivering the remaining component of the audio input to an audio output device.

Description

DESCRIPTION
THIS IS QUITE SIMPLY WHAT IT SAYS - IT REMOVES VOCAL FROM C.D.'S, TAPES
AND L.P'S (SINGLES) THUS ENABLINGYOU TO PRODUCE YOUR OWN VERSION OF
A SONG IN A STUDIO (OR AT HOME NOW WITH THE MODERN COMPUTERS) WITH
THE ORIGINAL BACKING. ALSO GREAT FOR CLUB ENTERTAINERS WHO PAY
LARGE SUNfS OF MONEY TO HAVE BACKING TRACKS MADE FOR THEM. THERE ARE SOFTWARE DEVOCALIZERS AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET (E.G. YOGEN
VOCAL REMOVER) BUT NO HARDWARE VERSIONS EXCEPT VERY EXPENSIVE
STUDIO MACHINES WHICH COST THOUSANDS OF POUNDS AND WORK
ELECTRONICALLY AS OPPOSED TO MINE WHICH IS MECHANICAL AND SHOULD
COST AROUND ú20. MY DE-VOCALIZER WORKS FANTASTICALLY WELL WITH
OLDER RECORDINGS WHERE THE VOCALS HAVE BEEN LAID DOWN LAST IN THE
MIX E.G. SMALL FACES, BEATLES, HENDRIX, STRANGLERS (GOLDEN BROWN),
ERIC CLAPTON, ETC. THE MORE MODERN PRODUCTIONS ARE SOMETIMES MORE
DIFFICULT BUT IT'S A CASK OF 7 OUT OF 10 IS BETTER THAN 0 OUT OF 10!! IN ANY
CASE IT'S GREAT FUN, CAB BE CHEAPLY PRODUCED, EASILY MARKETED AS A
"KARAOKE" DEVICE OR AS MORE SERIOUS "STUDIO-EQUIPMENT". IT CAN ALSO
BE USED AS A "PLUG-IN' DEVICE "JUST FOR FUN" WITH THE FAMILY'S C.D.
COLLECTION (OR VINYL) PROVIDED YOU HAVE * COMPONENT Hl-FI EQUIPMENT 1. THE DE-VOCALIZER DOES NOT WORK WITH MON O. RECORDINGS
2. IN SOME CASES THE DRUMS AND/OR BASS ARE FURTHER AWAY IN THE
MIX (QUIETER).
3. THE DE-VOCALIZER CAN ONLY BE USED WITHIN CO - ONENT (SEPARATE)
Hl-Fl. SYSTEMS.
4. THE RESULTS ARE ENTIRELY DEPENDENT ON THE ORIGINAL
RECORDINGS.(I.E. THE OLDER RECORDINGS OF 70'S - 80'S WHERE THE
VOCALS ARE RECORDED LAST) DIFFERENT RESULTS ARE OBTAINED
DEPENDENT ON THE RECORDINGS
1.
KEY LEFT CHANNEL IN/OUT POSITIVE CONNECTED TO EACHOTR INSIDE SMALL
MOULDED BOX. EARTH(NEGATIVE) LEFT IN TO SWITCH (CONTACT TO POSITIVE
OR NO CONTACT). LEFT OUT EARTH BLANK (DOES NOTHING).
RIGHT CHANNEL IN/OUT POSITIVE CONNECTED TO EACHOTHER.
EARTH RIGHT rN BLANK (DOES NOTHING). RIGHT EARTH OUT CONNECTED TO RIGHT TN POSITIVE AND RIGHT OUT POSITIVE.
THERE ARE OTHER SMALL SWITCHING VARIATIONS WITH LEFT OUT EARTH AND
RIGHT EARTH IN.
2.
