Abstract

A grass edge device made up of an interlocking moulded body with conduits for a water system and/or electrical supply system incorporated. The device is secured in place with anchor pins. The grass edge may be used to supply water or electrical supply around a lawn whilst at the same time preventing the growth of grass at the lawn edge. The device may be formed with a grid having apertures through which grass grows thus further securing the device in place.

Description

Tl JE DESCRIPTION
GRASS EWE
The invention relates to a grass edge, which consists of an interlocking moulded body with conduits for a water and/or electrical supply system incorporated, with anchor pins, which can be used on internal or external edges.
Grass edge systems are available but only prevent the growth of grass for a short period of time.
This invention is designed to satisfy two objectives. Firstly, this grass edge prevents the growth of the grass edge permanently. Secondly, this grass edge has conduits built in for water irrigation of lawn or garden and/or electrical supply at any point of the lawn.
Preferably the grass edge is made of plastics, but it may instead be may from carbon fibre, pressed steel (zinc coated) or alloy.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure I shows a 3D view of grass edging.
Figure 2 shows the 3D view with the descriptions of major parts of the invention.
It is an interlocking, moulded body having conduits running the length of the unit to allow for a water supply and/or electrical cabling. (Conduits I) The unit is attached to other units by way of location pins 2' male conduit 3 and female conduit 1.
The gaps 4 at the front of the unit to allow the grass to grow through. The gaps could also be used to attach lighting modules.
The flame surrounding the gaps provide holes through which the anchor pins 5 shown in figure 3 can be attached to secure the unit to the lawn. This is illustrated on figure 2.

Claims (8)

CLAIMS 1. A grass edge made of interlocking moulded body units one of which is shown in figure 1/1, with conduits 1 for a water system andJor electrical supply system incorporated. 2. A grass edge is fixed to the lawn during installation with anchor pins 5, grass will grow through gaps 4 to assist secure fixing of the edge. 3. A grass edge designed to satisfy two objectives. Firstly, this grass edge prevents the growth of the grass permanently. Secondly, this grass edge has conduits to allow access for electrical cabling and/or water supply. 4. This invention provides a moulded body which eliminates edge cutting and has conduits for the irrigation of the lawn and/or garden. 5. A grass edge as claimed in any proceeding claim which is made Dom plastics, carbon fibre, pressed steel (zinc coated), alloy or from a combination of these materials. 6. A grass edge substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings. 3. Amendments to the claims haste been filed as follows ( CLAIMS
1. A grass edging device made of interlocking extruded units, secured by grass growth and anchor pins, with secured connecting conduits for a water system and/or electrical supply system incorporated, adapted to be used adjacent to, and surrounding, paths' borders, flower beds and similar preventing grass growth and enabling irrigation, fertilisaton and / or illumination of said areas.
2. A grass edging device, consisting of two edges perpendicular to each other Conning a unit as claimed in claim 1, where one edge is a flat 1awnmower strip which allows standard removal of extra grass.
3. A device as described above where the unit is fixed to the lawn during installation with anchor pins, pinned through five equidistant anchor pinholes located on the top edge furthest from the joint, also four equidistant anchor pin-holes on the alternate face central to the unit, grass will grow through gaps incorporated on the upper edge of the unit which lays on tle surface from which the grass grows, as described in claim 2 as a flat lawnmower strip.
4. A grass edging device as claimed in any proceeding claims where toothed grips located on the bottom edge of the face intended to be inserted into the ground assist m stabilising the unit to the edge of the adjacent area.
5. A grass edging device as claimed in any proceeding claims where water flows through conduit positioned adjacent to the two sides at the 90 degree joint, where each unit has a plugged outlet for the attaching of various watering devices
6. A grass edging device as claimed in claims I and 2 which incorporates two vertical alignment pins and two corresponding alignment locator holes to ensure ahgnment of connecting units.
7 A grass edging device as claimed in any proceeding claims which is made from plastics, carbon fibre, pressed steel, alloys, or from a combination of these materials.
8. A grass edgmg device as claimed in any proceeding claims as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
