Abstract

A tee-square comprises a main tee body 1 with a longitudinal slot 4, a sliding member 2 and a locking device 3; the main tee body 1 having metric and imperial measurement scales on each of two elongate edges. The sliding section 2 is attached to the main tee body 1 by the engagement of the locking device 3 in the slot 4, and has a vee and small groove cut into both edges to accommodate either a pencil or a craft knife. The sliding section 2 also includes two viewing slots which permit the reading off of the scales on the main tee body 1.

Description

r 1/4 Sliding Tee The invention relates to a sliding tee square, which has
incorporated in it a measurement scale and a lockable sliding section It has always been difficult to draw a straight line parallel to a straight edge especially over long distances This invention sets out to overcome the problem of drawing straight parallel lines making it simple to draw straight parallel lines over limitless distances This square enables the user to fix the slider at any designated point along the tee then by inserting a pencil in the vee located on the slider, drag the tee square along the workpiece, thus forming a perfectly straight line exactly parallel to the workpiece edge Preferably the sliding square will be made of lightweight aluminium the calibration should be in imperial as well as metric A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows the sliding tee square Figure 2 shows the sliding section.
2/4 As shown in figure (1) the sliding square consists of the main tee body (1) the sliding section (2) and the locking device (3) As shown in figure ( 1) the main tee body ( 1) has a slot (4) cut along the centre to permit the locking device (3) to pass through the tee body (1) The main tee body (1) has metric and imperial measurements on both edges The slider (2) can be slid along the length of the main body ( 1) and locked off et any point by means of the locking device (3) As shown in figure (2) the slider (2) has a vee and small groove cut into both edges to permit the locating of either a pencil or a craft knife As shown in figure (2) the slider (2) has slots cut both sides to enable the measurements to be seen on the main body ( 1)

1. A tee square with a sliding section
2. A tee square as in claim 1 having measurements to both edges of the tee
3. A tee square as in claim 1 having a sliding section movable along the length of the tee
4. A sliding section as in claim 3 having a locking device to secure it at any desired point along the length of the tee
5. A sliding section as in claim 3 or 4 having a small vee and groove cut into both edges to accept a pencil or craft knife
6. A sliding section as in claim 3, 4 or 5 having a cut out to both sides enabling the measurements to be seen underneath
7. A sliding square as described in any proceeding claim which is made of metal, plastics material or wood, or any combination of these materials
8. A sliding square substantially described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings
