Abstract

The forget me not is a small transmitting/receiving device that either fits inside a watch or attaches to a key ring. It consists of two modules, one that transmits a radio signal, and one that receives. The signal strength is very low and once out of range (approx 2m) an audible alarm sounds on the transmitting module. This notifies the wearer that they may have forgotten whatever they have attached the receiver to, or the object has been stolen, or they have moved out of range of the object.

The forgetmenot consists of two main parts 1. The transmitter. A small device that fits on to a key ring or inside a watch, this sends out a low frequency sound wave that is picked up by the receiver. The transmitter is powered by a small watch type battery. Its signal has a range of approx 2m. It can also be switched on and offby use of a small button on the side ofthe unit. A small L.E.D. glows when the unit is armed. When armed the unit sends out a signal every 3 seconds, this signal is bounced back by the receiver, the transmitter then sends out another signal. This carries on until the signal is not returned, because the receiver is out of range. When this happens an audible alarm sounds.

2. The receiver. This is a small device that is attached to mobile phone, laptop, etc. It is pre programmed to the frequency ofthe transmitter. It is attached to the object using a sticky pad. This unit bounces back the signal sent from the transmitter.

1 A small alarm system that comprises two parts, a receiver and a transmitter.

2 A small alarm system as claimed in claim 1 that can be fitted in either a watch or a key ring 3 A small alarm system as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 that uses low powered radio waves to check whether the receiving device is still in range 4 A small alarm system as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 or claim 3 that emits high pitched sound when the receiving device moves out of range.
