Abstract
238,697. Haddan, R., (Regan, J. B.). Aug. 19, 1924. Electromagnets.-Train-controlling apparatus on a train is controlled by circuits including one or more magnetrons which are positioned to pass through the field of magnets placed on the track, these being arranged to be controlled by the condition of the track ahead by the use of track relays. Curves and other places requiring low speeds are provided with track magnets for limiting the speed of traffic. The track magnets comprise a core movable axially vertically by the winding 33 in a non-magnetic tube 34 in which it is entirely enclosed. The core, when the coil is energized, occupies a central position with respect to the winding and in some cases is allowed to fall lower and in others is raised by a spring to a higher position so as to be ineffective or effective upon the magnetron of a passing train as the case may be.
