CONTAINER FOR CLEANING PAINT BRUSHES
This invention relates to a container for cleaning paint brushes.
Containers are known which when suitably filled with water are used by children for cleaning brushes used with water paints.
These known containers are of plastic construction and of substantially square-based parallelepiped shape, they are provided with a removable lid comprising a frusto-conical seat projecting towards the container interior and having an aperture closable by a plug.
The lateral surface of the container is provided with a horizontal line defining the maximum level of water which can be fed into the container such that if the container falls over, this water quantity cannot escape from the aperture. A drawback of this container is that the child is compelled to use already dirty water even when using a paint of different colour.
According to the invention, this container can be improved. In accordance with the invention there is provided a container for cleaning paint brushes, characterized by comprising a receptacle closable by a lid, said receptacle being provided with at least one baffle defining separate chambers, the lid being provided with holes closable by corresponding plugs, each hole communicating only with one separate chamber.
The invention is described in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawing.

a À Figure 1 shows an exploded perspective view of a container according to the invention.
As can be seen from Figure 1, the improved container of the invention comprises substantially a receptacle 2 constructed of substantially transparent plastic material and provided with a vertical baffle 4 defining two separate chambers 6 and 6'.
A lid 8 also of plastic construction is applied to the receptacle 2 substantially of rectangular-plan parallelepiped shape, and engages it with its annular edge 10 in correspondence with an annular rim 12 of the receptacle.
In said lid 8 there are provided two substantially frusto-conical seats 14 provided with apertures closable by corresponding plugs 16 connected to the lid by elastic tabs 22. The plugs 16 are provided with protuberances 20 to facilitate their disengagement from the seat. The plugs, the tabs and the lid are constructed in a single injection moulding step.
The lateral surface of the receptacle is provided with a circumferential rib 18 indicating the maximum level of water which can be fed into the receptacle such that, even if the container is knocked over and rests on a lateral surface, the contained water does not escape through the hole even if this is not closed by the plug 16.
From the foregoing, it is apparent that the improved container of the invention is more practical in that it enables a child to clean the brush with the water of one chamber and to take up water from the other chamber to dilute the paint.
